Wow, Ai, Risa & Riho are like the Nochiura Natsumi of dancing, Sexy Dancing and Wild Dancing, that is. (the outfit colors mostly inspire the comparison, I guess.)

Moonlight Night is definitely the standout performance. Except for making Riho do a stripper dance -- that's just creepy. I'm so pleased that they used Risa instead of Reina!



Is Sayumi lipsynching in Fantasy ga Hajimaru? If so, too bad, this was her moment and it would have been nice to see her sing live (there's something I never thought I'd say). Rainbow Pink was a bit much.

I'm really glad to see 9th gen singing so well - they're all on key and it's rocking my world, tbh. I don't think I've seen a new gen sound this decent by debut since 6th gen. They've improved a lot since auditions - they were all pretty much tone deaf at that point. They're all a little rough on Suki na Senpai, but for whatever reason, every generation has been, haha. Maybe it's all that bouncy choreography.



I really wish Fantasy ga Hajimaru had gotten some awesome princess dresses or something :(

I can't wait to see this. I just ordered the DVD from CDJapan, along with the BK Spring Concert and the C-ute/S/mileage joint concert. I tried finding cheaper sources in other Asian DVD sellers, but the prices were comparable to CDJapan's, where I get bonus points. And Blu-ray's too expensive, what with the exchange rates the way they are. If the prices came down, I'd order them all on Blu-ray.

Huh? UK DVDs worked fine for me in Japan since they're both Region 2. Most of my friends were from England (and one Welshman we don't talk about) and they let me borrow DVDs all the time which worked on my various game systems. I guess having a TV that can translate PAL signals is the only problem, but the one I had could.

One thing I realized when they were all dancing right next to one another? Mizuki is a lot taller than most of the other members already. Cute. I actually noticed her a lot in this performance, even though she doesn't have any solo lines.

That being said, does anyone know how tall Mizuki is? All the sites say 150.8cm which I know is impossible now and is just left over from when she first joined eggs. Someone on 2ch said she's 158cm but they made a lot of mistake with the other members of H!P's heights (it was in a list) so I can't really trust it :/

The Hello!Project Wiki has her at 155cm, but that doesn't seem right, because they have Erina at 157cm and I think Mizuki is about her height. 158cm might not be the exact measurement, but it seems like it's pretty close to however tall she might be. She looks like she's about Aika's height and Aika is about 157cm according to most profiles.







They look about the same in this picture, so it's probably pretty close since neither of them would have heels on their boots.

Zukki's dancing is seriously spazz-tastic. Aika gets to sing in every song and doesn't use her cute voice in any of them, so that's a win. This is probably one of my least favorite RR21 remixes, though.





Suki na Senpai



They actually turned all of the group lines into solo lines. I guess so we could hear more of 9th gen, or so that they would have to harmonize with each other.



Mizuki's Egg training seems to have paid off somewhat, because what she is a lot better at than the rest of 9th gen is singing while also dancing. I hope she gets really tall, and Zukki and Riho stay short forever so we can have awesome really tall and really short contrast.

Aika's cute voice comes back, and now I'm sad even though it's not too bad here. I keep finding myself pleasantly surprised by Mizuki. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lesson.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lesson:' /> She's already obviously one of those people who has more of a presence onstage than she does off of it, ala Takahashi.



Actually, all three sound pretty good here. This turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

Sungoi My Birthday just WOULD NOT end. I think I need to watch more concerts, I think it would help me with my list of favorite to worst Morning Musume/H!P song list. Not that the performers were bad, It was just the song was so repetitive and annoying. I agree with what was said about Mizuki, but truthfully that's what she was trained to do. She wasn't trained for screen time on television. So one would think she would be better at concert performances then being stuck in front of a camera on television/internet.

Great concert. Only problem is the heavy reliance on songs from the most recent album, which I thought was pretty weak.



The one song I did like off the new album was "I'm Lucky Girl" and I thought that was a highlight.



I thought Mizuki sang well, I'm still hoping for her to get a better song though. Right now, she comes across as more professional than exciting.



Zukki sang better than expected, and was fun to watch. She has a natural stage presence.



Eripon was easily the worst, but I liked her enthusiasm and attitude. She looked happy to be up there.



Riho was superb. Not the greatest singer, but she has a real magnetism on the stage, and she obviously dances great. Moonlight Night was the highlight of the concert, although I hated the choppy way it was filmed.

Erina is so odd to watch on stage with her really... I don't know, limp dances? But she's undeniably cute on stage with her enthusiasm otherwise. I'm happy Riho's not turning out to be the cold genius despite all my predictions that's what she'd do. The wink segment with Ai was cute as all get out. Towards the end of the concert, Mizuki was talking really fast and seemed jittery, so I think that's what happens when she actually gets excited, and if so.... too freaking cute!! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':wub:' /> Zukki is perfect as always.



All in all, I'm happy 9th gen is turning out so well, especially with this being their first concert which happened so soon after becoming idols. I was worried pushing them into the spotlight so prematurely would stunt their growth as idols, but it seems to be doing them a world of good. Maybe this approach will actually prevent future Aikas after all, though it's odd since she was initially pushed into the limelight for a good while (Egao YES! Nude, Onna ni Sachi Are).

I'm curious to see how they handle a tour for the 12th album. As in, how will the lack of Takahashi impact the songs. It's sad, Kaori never even got to be in the Haru~Dai6Kan hit Mankai tour. Yaguchi was gone too. Of course, they left off the one seasonally appropriate album track because those two were half of it.



This new album is tricky, they need to include Takahashi, but also consider how the new girls (who aren't here yet) will fit into the tracks. I think there will be less small group songs this time, or they'll shaft her and just make the last song, Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou? (Fukui accent Ver.)

The lines call for a soft voice, so she probably is singing. Maybe they are playing the track over her live voice for DVD watchers to hear anything + drown out the wota.
