This is a really good video history of H!P. You can see in the bottom right corner what rank each single got and how many units it sold too.

Fukuda Asuka's audition was EASILY the best, even including Heike (who won, obviously). Especially considering she was like, 12 here. I always think about how different MM would have been had she stayed around. She was a really valuable member. What were they saying to her afterward? LOL

Now watch the promotion of all of these releases on no less than 5 different tv shows PLUS Hello!Morning. Not complaining, it was just a really good year.

I never knew that existed! I guess I should have paid more attention to the actual musical. I wish it had been recorded in full and released on a Pucchi Best album. High-King is awesome, but really had nothing to do with the musical since Eri and Risa also had major roles and are totally left out of the unit.

Yeah, though, actually, I saw all of that as over-saturation. They were stretched too thin doing too many one time gimmicky things and after that, the group just exploded. I couldn't believe there was so much STUFF going on in 2003.

I like how in the one shot where you could see her and the monitor with the mo-cap software running the mo-cap actually had at least a 1 second delay.

Maybe it's just my biased impression, but she can't even remember simple lines and needs to look at the prompter all the fucking time.

Saki however did a far better job. She also seemed as if she was thinking to herself "why are these adults acting like idiots ?", seeming scared at times. haha

She is wearing too much makeup indeed. I never watch OhaStar - even for someone like me who mentally regresses to a 14 year old when it comes to Jpop idol, this show is way too kiddy-annoying-shrill-bad-acting. All I see Sayaka wearing is the usual idol make up of black and white eyeliner and skin stuff, am I missing something?

None the less, a decent performance, despite some rough high notes. Is she H!P or just UFA? Because if our new Aya/Maki/Miki is going to be Yuu/Mano/Sayaka? I can live with that, actually.

Also, that history of H!P. It was really interesting, but I was slightly disappointed they named Coconuts Musume but didn't name Sheki-dol. :( They were so amazing yet they never get any credit.
