Apparently the sales so far are estimated to be about 8.5k. Which is higher than Fantasy 11's total sales, so I guess it could be worse.

of course if I wanted some Korean music I could fill a half the pacific ocean with that stuff.

Although I did find a really old cd that was Morning Musume and Michiyo Heike together on the same cd, I probably should have checked what it was.....

I have to say, I was surprised how much I enjoyed this album. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' /> I'm a huge Riho/Reina fan, so I expected a lot of them, which I got, but I really loved Kanon and Eripon, who I thought were the weakest singers. I'm also quite proud of Sayu. I feel like she's really come a long way since she started, and I thought Aika was awesome. n__n I was REALLY happy to get another song with rapping, and I'd love to see it live with Aika back on her feet (pun intended). <3

The first time I listened to the album, I was unimpressed. Several songs were "I'm never listening to that again" terrible, and most of the rest was, "Meh."

But then on the second and third listen, it's a really good album!

1. Give me Love - I don't think I'll crave listening to this song super much, but it's definitely good. Not really any problems I can think of with it, besides all the Takahashi. Is the sort-of whiny sounding girl every now and again Riho? She doesn't sound half-bad, especially since she was added to the group for her dance skillz. (4/5)

2. Only you - I still don't really like this song super much. (3.5/5)

3. Silver no Udedokei - I can't do it. I don't like these weird rapping R&B songs they keep throwing at us on everyone's albums at all. (1/5)

4. Suki da na Kimi ga - O_O!!!! ... !!! Yeah, I love this. Where is Mizuki in it, though? Sounds like a MichishigeXAutoTune collabo. XD (5/5)

5. Kaiketsu Positive A - Despite the beginning weird stuff they do with their voices (ala 3,2,1 BREAKIN' OUT), I really like this song. (4/5)

6. Kono Ai wo Kasanete - Before listening this song had everything going against it: slow, ballad-type song sung by Takahashi and Niigaki, arguably my two least favorites. AND YET SOMEHOW THIS SONG IS THE GREAT. Maybe I'd hate the two of them less if they sang slow, pretty songs like this more, without getting into their deep, gravely diva voices so often. I'll still likely skip it most of the time because it's a slow song, but that's just my general rule w/slow songs. (4.5/5)

7. Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo! - It's okay. (4/5)

8. Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai! - I like this song too much. It came on and husband was like, "I've heard this before." XD (5/5)

9. My Way ~Joshikou Hanamichi~ - A good song! Everyone sounds surprisingly nice together! Today as I listened to the new tracks from the album for a second time today Husband roamed through the room and said, "Who is this?" and I said "Morning Musume" and he looked at the speakers, listening for a bit with a quizzical look on his face... he seems to think that the drums are either a real drummer, or that at least they've updated their ProTools. XD (4/5)

10. Otome no Timing - I hate you, Aika. Quit sounding sick to your stomach and nasal-y whiny; I've tired of it long ago. You've been in the group too long to still have these issues without any other redeeming qualities. Weak ankles aren't a charm point. Can I get a 9ki ver only of this song? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... stling.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whistling:' /> (3/5 [would be 4.5/5 if no Aika])

11. OK YEAH! - Very nice! I enjoy the techno~~ (4/5)

12. Maji Desu ka Ska! - I've loved this song since learning its name, loved it more with every addition, and nothing has changed since then. Best. (6/5)

After listening to this album I can say that I quite like it. My thoughts on the songs:



Give me Ai

I'm not crazy about this song. It doesn't sound like an album opener. Another song would have been better as an opening. I'm not sure if they should have given Riho sololines in this song. Gaki, Reina and Ai's voices are much better suited for this song.

Only You

I like this song. Gaki's lines are awesome. Riho sounds nice and Reina and Ai do a good job. Sayu and Aika's 'solo's' I could have missed since their voices don't sound as well in this song as I would have liked.

Silver no Udedokei

I love this song. Gaki owns the rap parts. Aika does a good job too but pales in comparison with Gaki. I like the combination of Riho and Reina. The calm voice of Reina and the somewhat whiny voice of Riho actually make a nice contrast.

Suki da na Kimi ga

One of my favorite songs on the album. I had my doubts about a Sayu-Mizu combo but they sound very good here. I have some trouble hearing Mizuki's voice but it gets easier to hear everytime I listen to the song.

Kaiketsu Positive A

I like this song too. Riho cannot pull of those lines very well though. I like how Erina, Ai and Kanon sound here. I don't like how Aika sounds here, she can do better. She should sound more like how she sounded in The Manpower during the Fantasy DX tour.

Kono Ai wo Kasanete

Gaki sounds very good here. Too bad the song's a bit boring.

This will never be one of my favorite singles but I still like it.

more songs like this please. Who knew a Sayu lead would sound so good on an a-side. This is one of my favorite recent singles. But once again Aika didn't sound so good. I could have done without her solos.

I love thel ine distribution and the instrumentals sound nice. Erina doesn't sound so good though.

This song is nice. Nothing very special but Kanon sounds very good here. In fact she sounds best in this song. Erina has improved but her voice needs more work. Aika sounds a bit better here but still too cutesy. They should stop giving her this kind of song.

OK YEAH!

This should have been the album opening! Perfect song except for the weird Sayu thing just before and during part of the instrumental break. That bit sounded pretty bad. Way up there with Suki da na kimi ga.

I like this song. I've heard it too often though.

I really wonder why they keep giving Aika the super generic, overly cute songs. The only album "shuffle" songs.I've really enjoyed of hers was her first one with Kamei and her solo.

I noticed that when Aika speaks, she reminds me of YUKI. Might be the nasal in her voice. If she could just sing the way she speaks, I might not have a problem with her. When Aika uses her low voice, it's SO much better then her high voice. The fact that she has two voices at all was probably why Tsunku picked her. She blends well in the group so it's harder to pick her out.



My Way trumpted Silver has my song for this week anyway. The more I listen to it, the more I like it.



If Takahashi wasn't graduating, OK YEAH so would have been the opening to this album.

I've really been wanting to share my opinion on this album! Please excuse me while I force it on you <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... joyful.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':joyful:' />



The biggest reason for my renewed interest in Morning Musume is because of the 9th generation - so I was really looking forward to this album! I thought a few fresh faces was exactly what the group needed right now. The only thing I was sad about is the departure of Ai. The girl has a wonderful voice, so I made sure to savor every last note she had on here.



Give me 愛

Though I agree with everyone that this isn't a very strong album opener (Especially in comparison to the last 3 albums. Can't deny their amazing openers!), I still think it's a pretty solid MoMusu song. I didn't find anything particularly interesting or engaging in the melody, but it was still enjoyable. Pretty average and standard H!P fare.



Only You

I'm going to just go ahead and say that I've loved every single release from the 9th generation thus far. I think Tsunku has been on a roll with his songwriting and has been churning out some very catchy and dynamic songs. "Only You" is a great show of this. The line distribution is a bit lame (when is it not?), but I guess I can live with Riho taking over the group with Reina once Ai is gone. I love how this song is put together, and the verses really stuck out. I can't praise this song enough! Definitely one of the most unique of the group.



シルバーの腕時計

I don't know what to say about this song, other than I think it's interesting. I can never get enough of Gaki. It gets a little boring due to the 6 minute duration, but I think it was nicely done, and the girls do thier jobs really well. I like that they were trying something new with some real rapping!



好きだな君が

Oh hey, Rainbow Pink Ver. 2! You sound MUCH better without Miracle-what's-her-face! Sayumi is definitely getting on my good side with all of these songs that seem tailored to her voice. I would have liked to hear a bit more of Fukumura, but it's still a very cute song without going overboard. It stays pretty interesting throughout, as well. Nice arrangement :)



怪傑ポジティブA

Love this song. Don't know why. It's fast, fun, and catchy. I guess that's all you need from a good MoMusu song! The girls' voices get REALLY grating at certain points (the new girls are pushing themselves a little too hard, too soon), but I can get over it for the most part.



この愛を重ねて

I don't think I've been able to get through this song, despite many, many tries. It's just SO BORING. I love Gaki and Ai, but this is the worst "farewell" song ever. I was really hoping for a pretty ballad or something. They sing the chorus really well, though.



この地球の平和を本気で願ってるんだよ!

Though it's my least favorite single track from the era, I still love it! I think Riho, Reina, and Ai sound wonderful, and I for once don't have a problem with them dominating the song. Gaki's solo lines are gold, and the overall atmosphere is very light and fun. Great stuff!



彼と一緒にお店がしたい!

I'm still crazy about how this and the previous song tie together. It's awesome. This is probably one of my all-time favorite Morning Musume songs, and it's the reason I have now taken an interest in Sayu. She did a really great job in this one and it suited her perfectly. I think all the girls with solo lines killed it, as well. The melody is catchy as hell, and it's just too fun to describe. I'm in love with all of them! Makes me almost wish the 10th generation wasn't coming in...



My Way〜女子校花道〜

This song isn't particularly bad... but I don't really feel it's that good. The vocal production feels almost rushed, like the melody. It sounds very much like a rejected Buono! song, and while the chorus is pretty good, I agree with everyone that it sounds way too familiar. Doubt I'll listen to it much, if at all.



乙女のタイミング

Oh, lordy. I love the girls in this song and they sing it very well, but the song itself is terrible. So unfortunate for them. I still love you, Zukki!!!



OK YEAH!

Everyone else has said it for me: This song is bitchin'. Should have been the opener. Everyone sounds awesome. The track is so fast it blows my hair back. They all sound very cool, and I wish they'd do more fast-paced songs like this! Definitely the highlight of the album.



まじですかスカ!

This is the song that re-started it all for me! The song is really great, catchy, well-written. I fell for the new generation immediately, and this has quickly become one of my favorite H!P songs. It's seriously great - and is everything I feel Morning Musume should be :)









Overall, this is a great album. Probably on par with their 10th!

I'm going to miss Ai, though. I don't know if any of these girls can really carry the group vocally like she could. They're all still kind of weak.

I love love love this song. Maybe Riho's line should have been a duet with Mizuki or have someone doing harmonies to back up her voice, because on it's own...



Silver no Udedokei

I like it, but I dislike Riho's voice so much here, she almost ruined to whole song for me. Gaki is an awesome rapper of course, and Reina always does well on these songs. Of course Riho is obviously taking Ai's place here, and it doesn't work for me, she sounds like a 12 year old. Which she is (well 13, but still), and doesn't have that mature emotion in her voice for this type of song.

But it's a good song, just take out Riho.



Suki da na Kimi ga

I love it, but there's not enough Mizuki D: It's like Sayu feat Mizu-harmony

I love Sayu, but I really wanted to hear more of Mizu on this album ):

Cool song, but maybe it's lacking something? Maybe it's just not really my style? Idk. I like the chorus.
