I am tempted to say I like "Aishite Aishite Ato Ippun" better than "Kimagure Princess". While the latter makes for an epic dance number, the former is like a toned down "Dakishimete Dakishimete", which I also love. Unfortunately, now that song will always make Saw come to mind for me...

Loved the song and love the PV. Yes, it's something weird and different (kinda) and just a song that stays in the head for long periods of time. The girls looked amazingly smexy in the PV. And I may be the only one here who thinks so; but I really like the voice effect. It makes the song unique.



Last time I checked over at H!O, the girls were 4th on the charts now under Mizuki Nana and the sales between the two weren't too far away from each other. So far KP has sold 30,144 copies since it came out. Yeah. Those are some pretty low sales for Kinki too. For JE though, the groups tend to have more staying power so first day sales aren't as indicative of how well a single will do overall.



Didn't KP have a tie in with a drama? These sales seem really low for having a deal like that.

Yeah, the ending theme to some variety show. But it's a very new show, I believe it only started last month. Perhaps nobody watches it. But they were on Music Japan yesterday and will be on Music Fighter in Friday. I suppose those shows still help sales.



Or maybe nobody likes the song. But we all know that's what not what drives sales in the pop world.

At least, this was not Mikan 2 and there was the second week of River to get in the way. You could also blame recession? Or the cut they had in budget (more evidently seen in the girls clothing holes and Eri's lack of arm ). As much I love AKB48, I hate it how they can get those 150k+ and Morning Musume can't... Looking on the bright side, it is really nice to know that MM can still rank high on the charts. It might not seem like a lot of albums sold but considering they are over 10 years old, the song isn't very good, they aren't all that popular in the main stream etc etc etc they can still pull #4 on the weekly rank. That's pretty good!

After watching the green version I say Eri is the group's best dancer and the only one that knows how to properly flaunt her butt. While the others simply pantomime the move, Eri actually pushes the scarf aside to focus on the assets. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> She's also the only one that moved her hips correctly in a couple of moves. Great job, good show!



Sales, schmales. I'm (pleasantly) surprised they can still crack the top ten. I liked AKB48's single more this time around, simply because Kimagure Princess doesn't hold up to multiple listens for me. I put it on my master workout playlist, but I don't think I'll be adding it to playlists as often.

And they are at 15 today, which I find pretty impressive being the first of a whole new week for Oricon. (AKB48 is at 19, being even more impressive, actually).



But I agree with mEri and Petit Melon that Kimagure wasn't a good song. I took long to actually enjoy it and I started to feel bored right away (although I like some parts of the song)... So being in top 10 for 12/13 years is impressive. And this year really proved that UFA can still make them sell when they want. AKB48 actually proved (to me, at least,) that being promoted the right way, idol pop is not dead as I used to thing. Plus, KP was the 4th single of the year, and the weakest, - despite being a graduation single - so I'm happy it didn't flop.



As for the green dance version, I've only found out that green version is because of the wall and they are not actually in front of the green light panel or however it is called in English (sorry for not knowing...). My IQ is that low and I really forgot they had solo shots in front of a green wall in the PV. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Now that I get to watch it, Aika looks good <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fuuu:' /> but the dance moves make me think of monkeys...

That's some weak sales... But I also agree. Thought this was their weakest single this year, very gimmicky, not too different from something Berryz would do (this was the same vein as Ghengis Khan except a bit better and less annoying). I hope this is just a change in the Emo Musume so that there's lots more nice singles to come! Yeahhh, really late to respond to this thread. Song has a great main riff but everything else is ranges from mediocre to bad. They butchered everybody's voices with the chipmunk sound... it sounds especially bad when they do it to Eri since she already has a high voice. The PV was not very exciting either. This is probably my least favorite single in a long while.

The song has a catchy composition, but pretty much everything else about it is bad. The lyrics are bad, the PV is bad, the outfits and image in general are bad, the arrangement is bad, but its still pretty listenable. It is pure garbage compared to Nanchatte Renai, but that single was like an anomaly in their discography with how good it was amongst a sea of shit, but that's a whole other story...



On another note, I don't know if anyone has watched the Single V yet, but Ukyo and I both noticed last night that they pretty much avoid showing Koharu in the making of segment at all costs and don't even let her talk on camera ONCE. Not at all. If you watch the making of with this in mind and if you're looking for her, it makes the whole departure thing seem like its not very pleasant. They let everyone else talk on camera, usually more than once, and she never speaks one word in the entire thing and is usually just sitting in the back looking pissed off. We still don't know if this is officially the last single for her, but usually on the making of's for people's final single, they have a segment where people talk about them leaving and stuff, so it makes me believe that either things have changed that much that they don't do that at all anymore, its not her last single, or her leaving H!P really isn't on as good of terms as they seem to be making it out to be.

If it is in fact her last single, this is kind of odd - especially since they released some special goods for her graduation (the necklaces JSp post above and a T-shirt). Although Erika got some special goods too, and she's pretty much been wiped from all C-ute materials.



Since Koharu is graduating on 12/6, it's pretty unlikely she'll get to be in another single. That's only a month away, and in H!P land we would have heard about 1,000 different previews at this point. Hopefully she gets a proper Big Deal Graduation though. She's one of my least favorite members of all time, but she has a pretty decent sized fanbase and she was a pretty big part of the group in terms of exposure. She deserves a nice sendoff, at the least.

I don't know why the background vocals are so funny besides the goofy sounding "Hoi" chants, the rest is just a very clear example of how important the backup vocals are to most H!P songs, they beef up the track and cover up how weak and weird-sounding a lot of the girls voices are. The backup vocals here are really well done, and the male parts almost sound like AKIRA, but I can't see him being associated with a song that sounds like this. I'd be curious to know if he was or not, I just highly doubt it, considering his usual style.

That is really strange, I know sometimes graduates get special memorial DVDs (sounds like death).

The only reason why I could imagine avoiding showing her on camera is if they were saving all of her footage for one of those, but we'd probably know of that release by now. I'm quite shocked that they aren't milking the graduation more, they haven't had one in MM for so long now. Since they let her have images in the 2010 calendar, it couldn't have been that serious if there truly is more to this story. If she was leaving on bad terms, I think they'd still do their damnedest to force a smile and pretend that everything was fine.



They explained the graduation as something that she didn't decide, it's not like the usual lame "she wants to leave to go to a university, only to become one of those ladies who presses the button in the elevator for you." (or whatever) Plus, she's still staying in the company.



The modeling thing is her personal wish, it didn't seem like she had anything solid lined up away from the company, like a rescue boat that says AVEX. In this version it's totally obvious that it's princess, but the two times I listened to the normal song it sounded like beam to me.



Except for the "HOI" nothing sounds weird/off to me, I like the part after 02:13 very much, it sounds damn cool.

I mean there's nothing else indicating that she'd be cut out of releases.
