Pretty sure this is not true. Skyrim was built on a completely new engine from the ground up and looks about 5 times better than Oblivion's engine, which makes plenty of sense given the 5 years it had in development.

I should probably rephrase that:

If you can run Oblivion on the highest settings, you'll also be able to play Skyrim. The only thing you should have is at least a dual core, since Skyrim profits from that, but that's been the standard for years now.

After getting over the shock of the interface, it quickly becomes instinctive, especially after learning that you can hotkey items as well as use them from the favorites list.



I am extremely disappointed that they removed two of my three favorite skills, unarmed combat and athletics, though.

I have to say though that getting around is a pain in the ass because a) the map is 3x the size and b) so many fucking mountains. So it's never easy to travel as the crow flies. Grrrrrrrrrr!

The game was pretty cool and I'm on my secound playthrough.

Maybe not worth 15€, but I got it for 7€ during the recent Steam Daily Sale and it was definitely worth it.

Also bought Costume Quest, but I probably don't have much time to play it until the winter holidays.

Same goes for VVVVVV.



Hopefully the DX:HR DLC The Missing Link is on sale this Winter on Steam !

Took me several hours however to figure out which vehicles and classes fit my style of playing.

These are tears of joy. After nearly a decade of stagnation, the King of Fighters is finally back to form! After the abysmal XII, the series nearly died completely, but XIII brings back everything that made the old games great. Tons of story, lots of character interation, dozens of characters, lots of play modes, sick animation, amazing music! So freaking happy right now.



And to make it more incredible, it comes with a FOUR CD soundtrack, one for XIII and three with tracks from the previous games.

White Knight Chronicles (the second game has BOTH games on it!) and Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds have been finding bits and pieces of my time lately. Did not expect WKC to be so much like an MMO, but I'm enjoying it so far. And for HSG? What can you really say about it? It's seriously one of the most accessible sports games while not completely disregarding physics. I wish people still played it online though.

Been playing Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. I REALLY SUCK AT IT STILL, but I love that Phoenix Wright and Maya are in it. My baller team is Wright, Deadpool and Chris~ But I am thinking about subbing in Frank once I get better.



I also recently purchased Dead Rising 2, Ghost Trick and LA Noire since Gamestop had a black friday deal where you buy two get one free. They have all been games on my "play the shit out of" list for a while now. Love all three so far~

My crossdressing simulator arrived yesterday and it is pretty great so far.

The new combat controls are awesome, but they make every fight really, really, difficult. It would be too bad if I don't get to see the whole game because I can't get past a bitey flower...

On the plus side, if I get good at it, I will be qualified to beat a flower in a sword fight in real life.

I have just played 5 hours of From Dust and I'm absolutely amazed.

I can somewhat understand why somebody would give it "only" a 7.8/10 (seems to be the average rating), but for me this is pretty much a 9.5 and a 10/10 if it weren't for the at first awkward controls.



If you're into gaming for more than just to be entertained, you really need to try this game out.

I got Arkham City for Christmas! I can't wait to put some hours into it. I really loved the first one even though the game play and ending was lame. All was forgive though because of the characters and original B.T.A.S. voices~~ I do love me some Batman! You can also emulate them perfectly on PC (PAL version via PCSX2), if you just want to play them and don't have a PS2 either.

Seconding inFamous (but it's short and kiiiind of bad writing), Katmari Forever (esp. if you haven't played the other Katamaris), MGS4, Heavy Rain (shite writing, but interesting concept), NieR (truly a next-gen adventure game), and SotC/ICO Collection.



Also, DJ Hero 2 is actually pretty good if you can stand the less terrible pop music out there, Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, GTA IV/IV Complete/Episodes from Liberty City, and White Knight Chronicles (if you liked the .HACK games or want a single-player MMO with multiplayer capabilities) just to name a few.
