Wonder Girls feels leagues behind the other Korean groups but that might just be my opinion. But that might be the music videos fault. I don't like the Wonder Girls music videos, they feel so cheesy and not something that would appeal to a world market. And I may have this hidden dislike for Jyp. Does he REALLY need to be in the videos? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... omgwtf.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
Yeah, I've tried REALLY hard to like the Wonder Girls over the past month or so since I bought tickets to their concert in Chicago, but I just can't get into them haha. I'm still excited about the concert for 2pm (totally straight thing to say) and just general supporting foreign artists coming to the midwest, but I'm very who the hell cares about the Wonder Girls part of the concert XD.

4Minute just released their 2nd mini-album, HUH (Hit Your Heart). Their music video for HUHisn't bad, it features a pretty good intro by Beast. ;D I loved their first mini album and this one isn't bad. Kinda makes me wish 2NE1 would release something new though.

I love this song! I wasn't a big fan of their first mini-album except for What a Girl Wants, but I like most of these songs on this one. And what's up with the "I My Me Mine" song title? XD

10 My Me anyone?

Best song for the World Cup is probably, in my opinion, T-ara's "We Are The One." It's adorable.

I only started watching for Yuri from SNSD but Narsha from BEG is HILARIOUS! Because she's the oldest (30!) she's always being rude and saucy~♥

Yeah, I absolutely LOVE Narsha and Gain from BEG because of IY and WGM respectively. It sucks that Yuri and Sunny are both leaving IY, but I'm hoping soshified will continue to sub the show even without any snsd members on it because it'll still be an awesome show without them.

1. Seeing Wonder Girls & 2PM tomorrow, BAM. I... ok to be honest, neither groups are really my ~favorite, but they'll undoubtedly put on a good show.

2. SNSD's Tell Me Your Wish, in English. Apparently this chick came in second place in Dutch Idol and then Sony Music Entertainment bought the rights to make a cover. It's actually... really good. Ah, the value of a good lyricist... It's not like the lyrics are particularly deep (at all...), but they actually fit and don't sound awkward as fuck, unlike the fanmade shitty English covers on YT.

A new Kpop girl group from Starship Entertainment called SISTAR made their debut recently with the song Push Push.

They just did a live featuring Here We Come and Push Push of their debut album. (Still need some work there on the singing live part. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... nfused.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> )

I love SISTAR's debut single! The live actually wasn't too bad, but I like them so far! And the English cover of Genie was actually done well lyrics wise. The song itself felt kinda empty imo.

[EDIT]

Oh! I see Wonder Girls and 2PM next week, Thursday! I'm excited! It's my first concert ever.

I feel bad for people who hate music and can't find enjoyment in any song. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> There are certainly songs I won't go out of my way to listen to, but I can enjoy anything if I'm listening to it.

4 Days until Wonder Girls and 2PM. Excited for 2pm but sad that Junsu won't be there. Wonder Girls is meh, but I'm still excited.

WonderPM concert was great! The thing is... a large portion (and definitely the most vocal ones) of the fans were just there for the 20 minutes of 2PM. The excitement level went down considerably once the Wonder Girls actually came on, and I'm not imagining that because of my bias towards them. The encore at the end was "encore! encore! encore!" for about 10 seconds... and then became "2PM! 2PM! 2PM!" Unfortunately, all we got for an encore was an entirely too long video bragging about their ~global accomplishments~ before they came out and did 2 Different Tears... even though they'd shown us the English version of the music video earlier. So I felt less bad that the opening act was getting the encore chant. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... joyful.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

Like... while JYP's confident that they're now ~global stars~ and ~made it in America~, I think he kind of fucked up in that a) no, they haven't made it, sorry to say, and <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> they've lost their Korean industry relevancy. 2 Different Tears, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't won any music show awards, and I'm fairly certain their popularity been eclipsed by SNSD. Because the Wonder Girls were gallivanting around America for so long, the arguably incredibly ADD Korean music industry has... moved on, whereas 2PM has been pretty aggressively promoting in Korea for the past year and some.

And see, for k-pop artists, Korea is where it matters. That sounds really... obvious, but the crowd was still 85% Asian, and probably 75% of that were Korean. They're k-pop aficionados; they don't know the WG because of American promotions. Actually, come to think of it, the concert was pretty poorly promoted to the general public, but it WAS promoted heavily on AllKpop.com, so I guess it was targeting the specific audience of k-pop aficionados. And said k-pop aficionados were way more pumped for the 20 minutes of the opening act [that hasn't done any promoting here and sings in Korean] than the headliners [who switched off between Korean and English. Hell, when they sung their old hits in English it really threw the crowd for a loop, who didn't know the words to the English versions]

tl;dr just me getting my thoughts out. Joel can add on his own thoughts after he goes? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/meh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

The girls did really well though. The two that can sing - Sunye and YeEun? - well, really can. I was seriously impressed! Yoobin is hot as fuck. The other two are... um, cute? I'll admit to being a little underwhelmed, but 2PM put on a really powerful, slick opening act that was hard to follow, and they did do a surprising number of ballads for a more "dance"-oriented group. I'm a little surprised they didn't take advantage of both groups being there - at one point WG did a hot little tango/salsa number, and I couldn't help but think how much better it would've been with the boys added in. It takes two to tango, as the saying goes!

Oh, and their Engrish is really cute, and mostly correct! Yoobin said "We're really really thank you!" at some point though, god I want to pet her.

They already did a cover of Love Machine and now they're doing what Momusu did 7 years ago with Sakura-gumi and Otome-gumi~

Hehe, that's what I'm going to be thinking while I'm there. I'm really excited for 2pm. I'm pretty sure 2 diff tears did win on music core or something a week or two ago. I can definitely echo that when they start singing their English versions I won't be able to follow along. It should be a pretty sweet birthday gift to myself regardless. xD

I'm suuuuuuuuuuper excited to go. I never really was into 2PM, but I'll enjoy their songs nonetheless. I'm actually not too knowledgeable of their first album stuff. lol I'm going to the one in Dallas this Thursday with my roommate. My friend from Tennessee went to the one in Atlanta and she was estatic and to quote "I never cried so much in my life!" She's a fanatic. XD

AND! After School first sub-unit announced! Sorta! The name hasn't been released, but the first member has! Nana! Their mini-album is titled "Orange Caramel."

Well... I had questioned if it was a good idea for the Wonder Girls to go on random talk shows and shit I've never heard of, but apparently people watch it and remember them. I was getting my hair cut today before I leave for Chicago and I mentioned I was going to a concert and when I said a Korean group called the Wonder Girls the guy was like "Oh those girls that were on (insert some random talk show I've never heard of xD)". So hey, I guess it's working to get their name out hehe.

Well, 2pm was sweet. Tons of screaming fangirls for every second of every song they sang and they sounded/looked great... Then came the wonder girls... They sang for maybe an hour total(and the music was way too loud for their voices. Could barely hear what they were singing half the time)... they sang maybe 4-5 of their own songs and tons of remakes of shitty american pop songs and a few songs I hadn't heard which could either be their songs or just american remakes I had never heard the original of.

After 2pm left the stage there was a very noticeable drop in energy level and I can't help but feel bad for the Wonder Girls because they certainly noticed it.

tldr version I was on the fence about The Wonder Girls and I'm now on the side that doesn't like them for sure. I don't think that's what concerts are supposed to do. But for a diehard fan I'm sure it was amazing just to see them and such.

Orange Caramel (one of the After School sub-groups) does cutesy!

1. Nana got into Tsuji's bow collection... and looks better than Tsuji ever did. She used to model fairly seriously before she joined the group, and it's clear why. Although, so much hair fuckery, why...

2. Pledis got into H!P's warehouse of floofy petticoats!

3. Lizzy has a mustache for like, two seconds. It was Mr. Moonlight-ish. Hush, as if everyone wasn't already making MM/AS parallels up the wahoo.

4. ICU, blatant copy of Miss Dior Cherie perfume ad!

The rest of the songs are up for listen here. Downloads are... somewhere.

There was also a rumor going around - I thought it was pretty official, but I can't find the article so maybe it was just a rumor - that they were adding 4? more girls, bringing After School to a grand total of 11, which is More Than SNSD, Thus A Big Deal (ah, cutthroat insane k-pop fans, your priorities amuse me). 11 is, however, MM-sized. Looks like they really are going all the way with the MM parallels!
