I really think it's fair to dislike them based on whatever though... These are idols. I don't mind someone not liking a girl, I have girls that I don't like too much myself, like Reina because she became so ugh-ish and lost her interesting character but is OK sometimes, but lots of times people will start to hate them too. And hate based on nothing just really bothers me. And usually dislike will be mixed with hate. Oh, I really don't know how to put this. And I know dislike and hate are different.

(I swear I've edited this like 10 times because it never comes out right.)



And it's not really about the shows, it's more like, I'd rather have someone dislike someone for a reason other than just appearance or something...but I'm just weird, sorry. I don't even know why it bothers me, because it shouldn't...probably.



And what I wrote, is not what I said, other than I like her laughing smile, but a collection of what I've heard other people say about Acchan. Her fans, that Yama guy, that guy with the high voice, all those geinoujin, other AKB members....

But Acchan really does work hard, and it's not like she asked to be center or anything. It's not Acchan's fault that the other girls are shafted. If you want to blame anyone, blame Aki-P, blame Ota Pro, blame management. And even if Acchan wasn't there, there's other front girls to take the center position. And if all the front girls were gone, well then AKB wouldn't be as popular anymore and would probably turn into H!P. That's like when people blame Ai-chan for shafting the other MM members. Blame Tsunku, he's the one that gave her all the lines!

Okay, it's official. Aki-P is a bigger troll than Tsunku.

Glico and AKB created a fake girl, Eguchi Aimi, just to promote Glico's Aisu no Mi candies.

She was introduced as AKB48 12.5th generation Kenkyuusei. Before it was figured out for sure that she was CG, the debate had been going on for a while about whether Aimi was real or not after getting a spread in Shunkan Playboy:











But people were saying she looks "too perfect" and "heavily photoshopped". Plus many people noticed she resembled certain members a little too much. (Ex: her eyes are Acchan's, and her hair is like Yuko's, she has Tomochin's nose)

Plus the fact that a new AKB KKS came out of no where and was suddenly getting heavy promotion, when she had never even been announced as an AKB KKS by the management was odd. I was convinced she was CG from as soon as the rumors started. And then today, pictures of her on Glico's "Aisu no Mi" adds popped up. And then the website was opened later on.



Reasons it was rumored she was fake:

I immediately noticed that the candy is called "Aisu no Mi"（アイスの実）. Her name is "Aimi" The 実 is the same. アイ実 turns into 愛実.

Aisu no Mi. アイスの実.



Plus the whole I AM CG thing from H!O.

Her profile on the AKB site reveals her to be completely fake, as well as a couple poorly photoshopped pics and the fact that her voice sounds like a lowered version of Acchan's.

She was never confirmed to real by managemant, and she hasn't been confirmed by fake by management yet, but it's too obvious now, and there is NO WAY she can be real.

I am not a fan of these fake idols. Every once in a while, they try to trot one out ala Sharon Apple but its just too uncanny valley for me. Oddly enough, when they assemble the "perfect" idol, she actually is totally forgettable isn't she? She becomes generic and lacks the unique appeal of each "imperfect" human beauty. Yes, these elections are nuts - I wasn't aware you had to buy a cd in order to vote. It is a brilliant marketing strategy <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> It seems like AKB has captured the mass power of voting games, like American Idol or whatever. I've always wondered why they air MM auditions only to foreclose fan input in the judging - it just seems like a tease in this era of "customizable" everything.



Finally, from my standpoint, I am not understanding the appeal of Maeda Atsuko. As I've stated before, she looks like the poor man's version of Maki Horikita...but I guess that's the entire point. On the other hand, she stands out a lot because she has a unique look. Pretty much the only front girls who can sing decently are Takamina and Haruna. There are a lot of really fantastic singers who never get to be heard, though. Yuko is okay, too. She sounds like crap there because the song is BEYOND too low for her LOL what dumbass thought that was a good idea?
