Oh, did I mention I've been playing Rolling With Katamari on my phone? It's really pretty well done, the touch screen controls basically involve "turn left, turn right, rub 3 times fast to dash" but it's just as much fun and as addicting as I remember the PS2 original being.

It was a typo. A while ago it said exactly what it was just changed to.

If you liked the former one, simply look in the subtitle, it's still there, just not twice in a row. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':omgwtf:' />

Batman: Arkham Asylum is freakin' amazing! Not only is it the best Batman game ever, it's probably one of the best licensed games I've ever played.

I've been playing Warhammer Online the past few days.

Got me a lvl13 Magus so far after about 25h of play.

While certainly is not as polished as EverQuest II, it is a very interesting mmo with the huge RvR part. (just like DAoC basically, but more hectic)

Finally picked up 007 Quantum Of Solace, which is still the worst Bond title ever, and got Zen Pinball from the PS Store.

007's a bit misleading, since all the screens I saw showed your Daniel Craig character in frame, but always behind a corner or crouching behind something. Turns out this is a "cover" mode where you can see more than what you'd normally see in 1st-person mode & you can take potshots at enemies while taking cover. The game's actually a FPS, which I'm okay with, but I was expecting more of a 3rd-person view like the PS2's 007 Everything Or Nothing game. Aside from some odd storyline deviations, it's pretty well done though. Just... FPS gets on my nerves after awhile.

Zen Pinball's the best fake pinball game since Pokemon Pinball for the Gameboy Color, the one that had a built-in rumble pak. I say "fake" because there's just no true substitute for an actual pinball machine. It's a physical game, and simply not something that can be recreated accurately on a monitor. But Zen Pinball tries hard & comes pretty damn close to achieving it. The shoulder triggers act as flipper buttons & you can nudge the board with the analog stick on most boards. That vibration's probably the most important element present though. Without it, this wouldn't be half as fun.

The Super Street Fighter II board (downloadable for an extra $2.49) is mostly worth getting, mainly for all the sounds & "props" used on the board. But it's still a pretty simple layout with not a whole lot of gimmicks or things to shoot for. I'll keep an eye out for new boards, and if they ever manage to make one for The Greatest Pinball Machine Ever Created (Black Knight 2000) then I'll feel like my $10 was well spent.

Yeah, I've been into Zen Pinball for a while now. I love the Bullwinkle table.

And Batman Arkham Asylum still kicks ass. They've perfectly captured what it means to be Batman with slick hand to hand fighting, creeping around in shadows, using tons of high-tech gadgets, and actually making use of the fact that he's the World's Greatest Detective for once. The extra combat challenges are still kicking my butt, although I breezed through the stealth challenges. I mean, why bother facing a half dozen guys all at once when I can pick off a few from the shadows, then knock down three at once with batarangs and punch them in the back of the neck so they don't get back up?

Man, I am not feeling the new Layton game. The puzzles are way worse than the last game's. A LOT of them are trick questions or are outright really hard. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> I do like the setting of the game moreso than the first one, though.

Phoenix Wright: And Justice for All. I looooved the original game and was excited to jump into this one. And it's a bit of a letdown. D: While in the first game we had really solid, serious crime cases, this one puts your suspension of disbelief to a much heavier test. And feels quite infantile overall, which I found somewhat problematic while playing it on a bus on the way to work. I did put up with a whole case focused on a little girl and an obnoxious idiot blonde, although I do know it did get me a fair number of questioning looks, but this guy is too much. Sucks. Good thing they did now screw up the game's mechanics. I'm glad Wikipedia confirms this is the lowest rated part of the series. While I'm definitely enjoying playing it a lot, I'm also looking forward to starting the next part.

I'm also slowly working my way through Rhythm Heaven and liking it a lot. After being trampled into the ground by Ouendan!, this game is helping me regain confidence that I am not completely rhythmically challenged. D: And is just unobnoxiously cute in the way I like. Does anyone have the Japanese version of the Stage 4 (Fan Club) song? I'd like to hear it.

Agreed. If I had to rank the four installments, I would say T&T>AJ>JFA=AA. I didn't play the first installment first, which might be the reason why I didn't like it as much. But I enjoyed them all overall.

I didn't like the AAs because it was annoying how you couldn't present profiles during magatama/cross-examination. And I hated the health bar in the first game; the new version is much more logical and forgiving.

I've tried to play through a bit of Gyakuten Kenji but my Japanese is disgraceful. I can't wait until January, though!

I might be one of the 2 people that still pulls out their Wii, but I'm playing MURAMASA right now. I love it! I really like Odin Sphere despite its problems (and this game has its problems too) but it's easily the most beautiful game this gen. I hope Vanillaware graces us with mucho games this generation. From what I've read, most people like the easier difficulty but I've been playing hard and it's perfectly balanced for me. The easier difficulty turns into a mindless button masher. Kesuke's story is harder than Momohime's. I tried his and got my ass handed to me on the first boss so much so I finally switched to the other difficulty to beat him. The katanas appeal to me on Momohime's side (the katanas are in a family tree style and you need to complete both sides to get them all), but I'll wait and play as her a little longer before I dive headfirst into the boy.

The MMO Dungeons and Dragons Online has been made completely free to play, so I'm checking that out. It's not bad at all. If you're a free player, there's a lot of stuff you have to unlock through playing it that subscribers get right out of the gate, but they've gone on record as saying that there's nothing that can't be had by the free play players that he paying ones get. Of course, if you're too lazy to unlock stuff, you can just get whatever you want with cash. I'm seriously eyeing just paying for the monk class if I decide to play the game for any time period.

Is anyone playing Trials HD? I'm hooked. Microsoft stupidly included an almost impossible achievement that only one person in the history of the world has gotten so far, and that I've been trying to get (which means they've effectively stopped getting money from me altogether). It's just one of those games where you have to do the same thing over and over and over, getting better ever so slowly. It seems I really like games like that.

Muramasa is also fantastic. And as another glorious fuck you to all the morons that got rid of their Wii's, the new Contra game is now being released as a downloadable game around the world.

Just finished the 3rd case and about to start the last one! While I still enjoyed playing and finishing the 3rd case, the frequent breaking of the 4th wall and self-references annoyed me quite a lot. There better be some epic resolution to the Miles Edgeworth sub-plot because that's really about the only thing I was looking forward to in this game.

Is anyone else excited about Ōkamiden: Chīsaki Taiyō? I watched quite a lot of materials when the original game was being released and really loved the style and a lot of the concepts. Too bad I never got to play it! But this sequel looks as pretty as adorable and I'm really looking forward to laying my hands on it.

Honestly, Interplay brought it on themselves. I can't really comment on the MMOG aspect, but Interplay sold off the IP before it distributed the game collections and the digi-dist deals. At least Bethesda isn't trying to get money out of it.

Yeah, I was mainly referring to the re-releases, because I don't think a Fallout MMO is something that this world really needs. I don't know how it looks on the legal side, but I hope Interplay does have a good basis to do that and it turns out in their favour. And even if not, then such a move is a disgusting bully tactic on Bethesda's part and a huge slap in the face of every fan of the franchise before they disgraced it.

Well, I did buy a GBA at the release. (and I rarely played it, only have 2 games)

To me, handheld games really aren't worth the 40~50€, when I can get PC games for the same amount of money usually.

Yes, I do know the console games for the current generation are extremely over-priced, however, there aren't too many games worth getting on the consoles this cycle imho anyway, so that kinda relativizes it for me.

A handheld experience doesn't even come close to what can be achieved on a console.

I really hope they are going to make an Okami game that comes to PS3, or better yet, the PC. Capcom is really PC-friendly lately. RE5 is coming on 18th september, Pre-ordered version on Steam only cots 34,19€ and I will probably buy it there, despite the CE only costing 40€ on amazon.

I do realize, that people that travel a lot each day, can make good use of their handheld, but when I'm at home and look at my 22" PC Monitor, I really want to play/surf on it, rather than on the smaller screen.
