Risa lead/solo, though, makes me think she's leaving <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Can I hope for a Kamei big solo in the second verse?

We'll Never Forget you Risa! Don't let the door hit you on the way out to M-Line.

No, I don't think she's leaving and yes, I would like a Kamei solo, but I have a feeling it might go to Takahashi. Those crazy 5th Gen Duo, they stick together like flies to fly paper.

Nope! Same generation, but different girl. Yup! It's Reina!... I wish. It's Sayumi. She does high notes... and HARMONIZATION. Not the obvious Ai harmonization, but at the last chorus where Risa and Sayumi sing together... It's interesting and different. This a good b-side though despite that.

This b-side is really good. It's like Classic MM + Sankaku Kankei, but with a bit more energy.

I hope the album has something this cool. (out of the unheard tracks)

Were those cheers during the intro from fans or was it actually part of the song?? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':noway:' />

Yeah, Risa can graduate in June. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /devil.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Wait, what, Risa and Sayumi duet as a b-side? How random, was all I could think while listening. I love me some Sayu though, as I actually enjoy hearing her as she struggles. It's cute.

Listening to the b-side now... I like the older sound. Gaki's not doing a bad job. Her singing's technically sound and fits the song very well. Sayu sounds...younger. HPK young. This doesn't even sound like Sayu though... I can't imagine the words coming out of her face. I probably would've preferred Eri. Or Mitsui <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':noway:' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I just try not to imagine her face at all.

The music for Yowamushi is pretty awesome. Really, does the wear-and-tear hurt their CD-burning lasers that much to add an extra 5 minutes for the instrumental of the b-sides? Even an 8 cm would be able to hold it!

Some people in the Cover You thread mentioned that Risa was sometimes not being properly utilized. I agreed with that sentiment, so I'm very happy to hear Yowamushi, because THIS is how to utilize her voice. She sounds fantastic! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':noway:' /> The whole "older" (classic?) feel of the song sounds great to me, and compliments Risa's voice beautifully.

Then, on to Sayu... she doesn't sound terrible, but I feel like her voice just doesn't fit in. Maybe I'm just not used to it. Their harmonies at the end are nice, though.

Overall, great song!

Yeah, I was thinking either Sayu got really really good (well, for her anyway) or Autotune's finally advanced to the point where people don't sound like Decepticons. Helluva great song though, really reminds me of the Second Morning sound. I like it so much, I'm even willing to overlook the Risa factor. Hell, I'm all for it in fact! Anything that inches her closer to graduation, wheeee! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /party.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Oh, and Naichau's pretty okay, but it needs about 26 more minutes of KAMO KAMO KAMO KAMO. Or at least another three.

This is probably the best song MM has released in about a year and a half. It's so good it even deserves its own thread! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... deways.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I like songs like this with fewer girls that are usually on the albums. It's just surprising to see it as a b-side, like Never Forget was, and it certainly brings to mind those Never Forget versions and what they meant for the girls who sang them. It's especially confusing and possibly telling since the album is coming up and they could've just put this song on there, where no one would've questioned its duettiness.

But yes, lovely song! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /weeeh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

With MM graduations though, we usually know they're coming months in advance - if they were doing this song as a tribute to Risa/Sayu/both before a grad, it would mean the graduation was planned and there'd have already been an announcement with this song hyped up as their last single. KoiING was practically a trio song, so this sort of thing isn't totally unheard of, but definately random. Especially the Risa/Sayu pair-up.

I would have much preferred Risa/Eri (or even Risa/anyone but Koharu/Sayu/Aika), but the song itself is so awesome I can pretty much overlook Sayu. Her singing sounds a lot better here, she's mostly just annoying in how she squeeks the end of every note. I don't know what to call it - the way she ends every note by her voice going up and making it sound cutesy.

People seriously like this? What is the big deal? Everyone says it sounds like old MM, but it lacks character in droves and isn't even close to their old sound. This is so boring, I really don't understand why everyone is freaking out about this. Its all done with fake-sounding keyboards and boring vocal patterns, there's very little interesting melody to speak of at all, the vocal performances really aren't that good, is there something I'm missing here? The a-side is way better, and that song's not really that great.

Personally, I like it because it's not the boring a-side. I like it because of those fake-sounding keyboards.

Seriously though, I could do without the vocals that everyone is loving. It only kind of sounds like old MM because Sayu's attempt at singing sounds like the whining from the early singles.

The amount of lines makes me think you weren't the only one who was so blown by Sayumi. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Ha! I was right on when I said Sankaku Kankei, Takahashi Yuichi is responsible for this.

I knew that Clav sounded familiar!!

My favorite part is the string instrumental during the "Kodoku ga niau taipu..." line.

Wait wait, Sayumi gets her own song on the album, doesn't she?

I think we're in for a special announcement around Spring.

You're still coming to L.A. right?

Cool, I found LYRICS

I really like this song, and I personally do think it sounds like old MM's material. I think Risa's vocals sound very good, but I could do without Sayumi. I don't care how much the girl has improved, her singing still sucks ass. It would've been interesting to hear Eri in this song, or even Aika (yes I'm going there).

So, you like it because its the boring b-side, as opposed to the boring a-side? It seems like if more people think the way you do, it could mean that people are saying the b-sides are good just because they don't sound like a typical a-side, regardless of the quality.

I don't see the comparison to old songs, especially since I don't like most old songs as much. But it's simple, and the vocals, melody, and instrumental sound good to me.

Just for clarification, when I said "older (classic?)" I meant in terms of the fact that it sounds like a style of music from decades ago. I don't know when exactly to pinpoint it (70s maybe?) The guitar riff and the drums are what does that for me, I think. I don't know much about genre classification so it's hard to state what I mean.

Well, it was a bit of a joke as I indicated with my transition phrase of "Seriously though". It was just a way of disagreeing that the a-side is better. I just really like the arrangement, so I can't tell you what people see in the vocals. Sure, it could be a psychological effect that it sounds different than a normal a-side, or they just happen to like duets.

Sadude, I know you don't like older songs as much, but you did like Egao YES Nude right?

That was pretty much the love child of Summer Night Town and Daite! Hold On Me.

I don't think it's a specific song as much as it is an overall attitude within the song which people associate with the Pre-Love Machine MM songs. It's the cool and sort of sexy, relaxed feel of the song. (not in the 7air sense)

There's something soft and effortless about it. The subtle backing vocals, the relaxed sound but just enough "groove?", nothing is overdone. Oh, also those sorrowful Mmms and nnnns, somehow that always makes me think of classic musume.

I just listened to a lot of older MM songs, especially the Second Morning album and I can hear hints of that era in this song. One thing that makes Yowamushi more current is that "sitar" sound, that is in a lot of MM songs, but not until after Love Machine of course.

Well, using something for a specific example, Daite! Hold On Me contains many of the elements used in this song. They have the clavinet, the strings, inspiration from a similar era of music, emotional chicks, and a cool attitude. Daite is a more complex recipe, but Yowamushi definitely has some of the same ingredients.

Can't wait for someone else to cover this.

I really like this song, I am really liking the disco, Bringing Down the Boogie instrumental. Risa's voice is very beautiful and blending very well. As for Sayu,.. err sounds like she's swallowing her notes.
