Nakano FujoSisters/Fudanjuku

Post by Special Needs Tricycle »

I don't exactly know much about them, but stumbled upon a live stream of one of their recent concerts and it was pretty cool, so I will share them with you guys.

Image

Amongst H!P/NGP/AKB48/Idoling!!! and allll the other new idol groups running around, this one probably has the most interesting gimmick. Multiple gimmicks. The most obvious from this picture being that they cross-dress as guys. They seem to have started doing this from a skit segment on their Showtime show. Probably like the H!M skits. I guess. Oddly enough they released 3 singles and 1 album as guys, but they're only just now going to release a single as their female personas. Nakano FujoSisters is their original group name, as girls, and Fudanjuku is the male group.

Their other gimmick is that all of the members are wotas/wotakus/otakus. Let's just call them wotas. I don't think they hold this rule in very high regard, considering Suzanne (Yes, that Suzanne) was a former member and was labeled as a "Health/Diet wota". But whatever, at least some of them are nerdy.

Members:

Inui Youko (Fudanjuku: Shijuuin Yousuke)

Nickname: Yokyuun

Age: 28

Cosplay wota

Image color: Purple

Kyan Chiaki (Fudanjuku: Bukiya Momotarou)

Anime wota

Image color: Pink

Kyoumoto Yuka (Fudanjuku: Midorikawa Kyouhei)

Nickname: Kyomo

Age: 23

Fairy and reptile wota (what)

Image color: Green

Ura Erika (Fudanjuku: Seimyouji Uramasa)

Nickname: Uraa

Age: 23

Professional wrestling and Hello! Project wota (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Image color: Blue

Konan Yuka (Fudanjuku: Akazono Kojirou)

Nickname: Conan

Age: 20

Fashion wota

Image color: Red

Harada Mariru (Fudanjuku: Ruhara Renji)

Nickname: Marirun

Age: 24

Game and manga wota

Image color: Orange

Arai Hirono (Fudanjuku: Saiki Kanbei)

Nickname: Piro

Age: 22

Cooking wota

Image color: Yellow

Music:

Fudanjuku - Otokozaka

Fudanjuku - Ore no Sora

Fudanjuku - Katsunda!

A Youtube account with a few live performances, including ones as NFS.

Now I usually tend to stay away from chicks dressing as guys because their fans tend to be really fucking annoying, but this group has no overseas fans and Katsunda is catchy as hell. And there's one that likes professional wrestling and H!P. I like professional wrestling and H!P. I'm going to marry her.

Also I spent forever writing this up, so take a look at them. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />

We finally find out who the bunny in the H!M/Haromoni@ is?! Is that the H!P wota? I don't think it is... I think it's the one with the pink tie? Some of them really pass as guys though, but are really pretty as girls too... But the concept of the group seems kind fun <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />

The one in the bunny outfit is Yuka. The H!P wota is the car mechanic/one with the backwards hat.

Yeah, I find it funny that some of them are manlier than most of JE. :B

I am a sucker for gimmicks. I am at work, so I'll edit with the youtube impressions later. Going so far, I like the photographs. And I am so happy one is a "cooking wota", whatever the hell that is. Finally, an idol that doesn't suck at cooking! At least, I hope she doesn't suck. It would be sad if she loved cooking and sucked at it. I've met people like that though.... The gaming and comics one sounds cool too. I like gaming and comics too. What a coincidence! And all three (the H!P included) are cute! :3 If their music is good, then I'll go ahead and add them to the groups I'll say I keep up with but won't unless someone else posts something <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... deways.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':weeeh:' />

The crossdressing gimmick is interesting. And fun? I dunno yet. I will never stop being amazed at how the Japanese can go from sex to sex without it looking awful. Seriously, some of those girls are cute men! But it is rather weird...I like weird though. Eh, I dunno what to think. Ramblerambleramble. Ilike the pseudo space outfits. Reminds me of the 80s

Professional wrestling and Hello! Project together again at last. I'm so happy these girls are older because I needed to stop feeling creepy after paying attention to MomoClo.

I was going to ask if the male-versions were superheros or had special powers because of those glowing orbs they hold in their profiles, but I guess the video of them rescuing their female selves basically answers that question. This is some hardcore otaku service. Are the girls supposed to be from space? I guess they are perhaps Magical Girls or something.

(P.S. Trike, your first two videos link to the same thing.)

THAT IS A DOWNRIGHT LIE (fixed)

It seems like they do have superhero gimmicks, at least as FujoSisters. Wikipedia had some sort of wota superpowers listed, but I didn't post them because some of them were hard to understand.

Also, yeah, they are all a lot older than most idols nowadays.

Ahh, this answered my question of what Suzanne's connection with the group was. Didn't Shokotan also have a connection with the group at one time??

Their music sounds like anime theme songs! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' /> I'm surprised/impressed they tried to sing lower than the usual idol voices. Yes,yes, they're crossdressing, but Japan has some weird fetishes so I was expected girlier men. Still obvious they're girls...err.... I really need to organize my thoughts better.

I like Otokozaka's PV the most. The cheesy dancing, outfits, plus rescuing their female selves was pure comedy. The talking parts of the song annoyed me. Ore no Sora is my next favorite. The locals were pure typical boyband and the weapon shots were like MM's flames only cheesier and funnier because some don't know wth to do with the weapons The only way it could've been better is if they fought each other MMO style. Katsunda is a fun PV. I like the colors and dancing but I hate clowns. I hate clowns. If it weren't for the clown I'd like it more than Ore no Sora. As far as songs go, it's Katsunda, Otokozaka, then Ore no Sora.

What the hell is up with their releases? It looks like each single had a version for each member plus another version plus a regular version? What the heck!? What's on them? A special segment for that member? A PV with the shot only? CDJ doesn't have the album listed either. Maybe this is a good thing. I don't need to be spending more money!

From what I can see, the DVDs are different with each version. With Otokozaka, each version has a different making of video, a segment where they just wota out, and a segment where they comment on the single. Ore no Sora has the same, except for a live performance of one of their songs instead of a comment. No idea about Katsunda, though. Probably something similar.

You may be right <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':sideways:' /> I thought that maybe she was part of the group or something. She'd fit right in <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... R#>/XD.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lesson:' />

So I saw this picture on somebody's blog about an event of theirs:

There really are too many damn versions of the singles.

It's a good idea, though. Buy the singles of your favorite members and get video footage centering around them. A lot better than 4 different limited editions with just different covers.

I like the idea of this group but the songs aren't grabbing me. I also find it amusing to watch them all dressed as (extremely androgynous) guys but sounding entirely like high pitched Japanese idols XD

They sound low enough for me. :T I don't think you can actually expect for them to sound like straight-up men, but they do at least sound like teenage boy characters you'd see in anime.

Idk, to me they don't sound any lower than any H!P group XD On the voice acting parts they sound like guys but the vocals are actually quite high.

I love this group! They're so interesting! Gimmicks are great, especially cross-dressing. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' /> The PVs are cute.

Ange: They're totally lower then most idol groups! The chorus is the usual normal-high, but the a lot of the solos and smaller group parts are lower. I know because I tried but I can't sing that low. XD Especially in the first song Trike linked.
