Luder - "Sonoluminescence"

"Sonoluminescence" is a phenomenon by which sound is converted to visible light with fancy dancy terms and accoutrements. There are wiki articles and scientific journals discussing this - read up. Fascinating thing, and quite frankly, gorgeous. Luder is, according to the band, a dirty word in German, in addition to a couple other languages. Ahem.



The sounds of Luder's premiere are equally gorgeous as the phenomena for which their first full length is named.



Fronted with the vocals of Sue Lott, the richly layered and textured rock captures a certain meditative aspect of music that has been missing in many albums. Transformative walls of sound merge suddenly with a clearly rocking guitar until Lott's bored, stoner vocals rise over the music itself.



Going unnoticed by many, Luder is absolutely a band for those who care less about lyric than they do about sound. Similarly do they appeal to the meditative or stoner rock category, lending their sound extremely well to flights of idle mindless thought.



If you'd any love for alt/grunge-rock female fronted bands of the 90's, Luder is definitely a must-buy. The nostalgia inherent in the disc is massively appealing for those who loved that era of indie rock.



And, naturally...it features the best song title ever in the history of ever.

I didn't understand your explanation and had to look up a video of it on youtube.

I still don't completely understand it, I think, but it looks funny.

btw, Luder (is a bad abbreviation [?], because in german a luder basically) is a hussy. lol
