Morning Musume - Yomiuri Land East Live 2009
The Yomiuri Land DVD is extremely short for a concert, but it should be noted that this is another release with Koharu.
So she most likely didn't leave on bad terms, it's 11 songs, they could have skipped this release so easily if they had a problem.
Kago prevented what? ...an entire H!P DVD and a fucking album.
1. OPENING TALK
2. Hand made CITY
3. ラヴ&ピィ~ス!HEROがやって来たっ。
4. 気まぐれプリンセス
5. インスピレーション!
6. すべては愛の力
7. NATURE IS GOOD!
8. Please!自由の扉
9. SEXY BOY~そよ風に寄り添って~
10. その場面でビビっちゃいけないじゃん!
11. Happy Night
12. 恋ING
While it's short, it at least has several uncommon songs.
I guess a normal sized tracklist would have filled the time with the other recent singles and the songs that you play while Dead Horses are beaten.
They just added the 恋ING performance to Dohhh UP!
The outfits are kind of cute, it's like 3,2,1 Breakin'/Shabondama.
Oh, it's coming out this week.

Yeah, the Yomiuri concert was basically just a promotional event for the b-side album. I was surprised that they were even going to release it on DVD. Nice tracklist, though. Most of the good b-sides there.
Except for 321. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

Performances are slowly appearing on youtube.
Hand made CITY has so much more impact live, I never really paid attention to the song.
There's something refreshing about seeing them at an outdoor event in casual clothing.
Going back to my comparison of their look to "3,2,1 Breakin' Out"
they're actually wearing the shoes from that PV!

Re: Morning Musume - Yomiuri Land East Live 2009
Just finished watching this, in part to keep my landlady's kid's SUPERLOUD noises at bay. Overall, I quite liked it. For an event, it wasn't as interesting as their single events, or the ones that Berryz and C-ute do. (In the case of C-ute, some have actual non-FC releases.) It reminded me of their AX concert: out in a semi-(makeshift?) stage, no costume changes, no full-blown MCs.
The opening talk, which is the first third (~20 minutes), just covered the members - who were broken into groups based on their bloodtype - and the audience's favorite songs. As a not-at-all-biased Eri fan, I got a slight laugh at Eri's "group"... which was the Kamei bloodtype group.
As for the concert, it wasn't as hyperactive as the Platinum concert (case in point: Love and Peace). But it was definitely refreshing to see them perform Kimagure in "streetwear". And this is the only concert where the actual recording lineup will perform "Subete wa Ai no Chikara" of which the dance was more flailing and less actual dancing, but expected of this song.
Sexy Boy was unexpected, since that's not even a B-side
Koi ING was a nice ballad. It's great to see how much Eri has improved since the original recording.

Hmm. Was there an event for their A-side album back in 2007? I know this is their first event in Yomiuri Land (since Love Machine), but I was wondering how much Morning Musume has succumbed to the necessity of release events.
Anyway, Koharu's still affiliated with UFA, so unless there were changes in her contract or something, I'm not too surprised that this is getting a release. Even Erika has been on the last few C-ute releases (save that official Hawaii one), and reminisced about Megumi and Kanna in their September event DVD.
I think what makes Kago's case special is that she did something straight-out illegal so everything official had to be canned, but remember she was still signed with UFA. I am confused as to what took them two years to relegate the concert to a FC release, though.

I really like the feel of the sunny, outdoor performance. Even if they were not wearing casual clothes, the whole outdoor thing would have given it something different compared to the normal arena recordings. But the outfits certainly emphasized the point.
I've always loved "Hand made City", and it made a great opening song after all that boring talk that I skipped through because I couldn't understand it.
This is the first time I was able to enjoy sitting through an entire "Kimagure Princess".

I just got my internet back a month after I moved soooo I'm still alive .
Anyways. I'm at school and I can't watch this, but I've been excited for it since I heard about it's release. I love any concert with handmade city in it and MM in casual clothes is always nice.

Re: Morning Musume - Yomiuri Land East Live 2009
I will only be able to watch it after my trip - if bad reviews don't kill my anticipation first - but I already miss Koharu and I'm dying to hear that version of Kimagure Princess so I don't want to miss that concert.

Don't forget a single, too.
And the DVD was the Hellopro Winter Concert, back when they were still relatively popular.
For her to cause that, you know they were pissed at her.

Your last statement is rendered untrue, due to the lack of Koi no Shihatsu Ressha. Bunch of their other older ones, too. Not that it would sound right, coming out of the current incarnation of MM... but still. And like you said, it's strange not to see 321 Breakin' Out either. Another one of their best B-Sides, and one that the current lineup was actually involved with recording.

Really? It's one of my all-time favorite B-Sides from MM. Although I recall that, back when it came out, very few people seemed to like the song. Further shocking, because it's 1000000 times better than the single that it was released along with. A song which tons of people loved, for some damned reason. I think we came to the conclusion that people were basing it on the PV being so sexy. Whereas in my case, I had never seen the PV, and only had the songs themselves to base the opinion on. Call it the "Chance of Love Effect."

Even they are still sick of it from Anime Expo. Performing it twice, hearing it 3 more times from the fan videos, not to mention:"HEY GUYS, THIS IS LUNA FROM AX BACKSTAGE. Well, 3,2,1 was their opening number for the Nine Smile tour. In fact, with the exception of Kimagure (which is automatically excused because it was just released at the time), none of the songs in the tracklist were used for the Nine Smile tour.

I really do like these costumes. I love when they dress them stylishly, rather than in poofy tea party dresses. I must say that Risa's was poorly executed, though... wrong choice of shirt for the bottom shirt.

It all depends on if someone color-codes it or not. I really have no time to update the concerts section though. :/

Yeppp.
I must admit, I've enjoyed this concert more than just about any H!P concert in years. Short and sweet, all catchy, fun songs. Even though the vocals, to me, sounded even more rough than usual, I do think this was at least a fun concert. I'd rather listen to 12 fun Momusu songs than 12 fun Momusu songs and ANOTHER 12 Momusu songs that I'm entirely ambivalent to.
