Morning Musume go to China... Again! :D
I was blog surfing today, cause that's what I do on my days off you know? And I found a little tidbit that Morning Musume were in China filming for a Chinese New Years TV Show. They can't get into Kohaku so they hop the ocean and crash the Chinese New Year instead. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Anyway, they'll be performing two songs, Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai and a Chinese song, Mo Li Hua (Jasmine Flower)on a Chinese New Years TV show.
Of course it's easier to smuggle cameras into a Chinese event so there's video of them rehearsing.
Onna ga Medatte Naze Ikenai
Jasmine Flower (I'm really excited to see the full version of this because it looks like they'll be going into a dance. But the video cuts off after a minute. :< Oh and LOL at Reina.)
The performances will air on Feb. 21st. [Info Blog~]
(Check out the blog for an awesome picture of Eri with that Just got off the plane look)

@first video; What's Eri doing with her arm there at 00:40 in front of Ai's face ? haha that looks weird.
Anyway, this seems interesting. I'm just starting to somewhat like their new song and the chinese song might also be interesting to hear and see them perform.

forget the video; can I make gushing fangirl noises over 2007 Eri version 2.0? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
I'm definitely liking the song; it might not be as interesting as Kimagure Princess, but it's boring in the ways I like. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> As for the Jasmine Flower song, it's clear that JunLin naturally know how to sing, Ai-chan is hesitant but still giving her best, and Eri gave up and decided to mouth the words instead.

I love how half the girls looked incredibly confused and bored during the Chinese song. Hey, who needs practice?
This is actually a great look at the tedium that goes into filming these kinds of things with performers being the mannequins that they are while the crew gets their act together. At least it looks like that's what going on in that second video.

What's the first thing you do when you return home after a concert?

Reina looked like a deer in the highlights during "Jasmine Flower."

Happy Chinese New Year from Morning Musume. Now watch the real performance on UTube. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... iggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />
(Though the audio seems really off. D:)

What's up with that screen? It seems like the graphics and text aren't consistent between cuts as if they spliced in older footage.

Them singing in Chinese sounds really laughable to me... I don't really know Mandarin, I'm a Cantonese speaker, so can't say for sure that it's really horrible sounding. But man, it sounds really extremely fake to me. But I'm still happy for them. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

Is it common that japanese artists sing there or are MM a special exception ?

I'm also curious about what Ap2000 asked! Also, is that a big event like Kouhaku?
Well, I'm watching the performance PQ linked and they are doing fine except for the camera... It doesn't let me see the faces of half of the girls. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ryalot.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':pouty:' /> But those dresses really fit the scenario! But the chinese song made me wonder if they even know about what they are singing. Their faces remind me of mine when I sang in my initial English classes. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/rofl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> And couldn't they had given solo lines for JunJun and LinLin there? <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> But not a bad performance! Yay!

Re: Morning Musume go to China... Again! :D
I've been able to find out that Super Junior performed at last year's performance. (Because Chinese New Year never has a set date, it was on 01/26 last year. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... lesson.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lmfao:' /> )
After skimming through an article related to 2008, it's not really clear that Japanese artists were invited that year. But they at least had artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Korea. I'm not sure if it's as large of an event like Kouhaku, since I understand zilch about Chinese TV and don't know if there are other more major TV stations or whatever. It's probably safe to assume that it's a major program, but iffy on whether or not it has the scope of Kouhaku.
Performance-wise: I'm pretty sure they just grabbed the single recording and stuck it in for broadcast, so that kinda turned me off. But the dancing had more energy than their usual Music Japan and Music Fighter performances, so good job there! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> "Jasmine Flower" was okay; I only managed to hear Linlin distinctively and everyone else got autotuned into something that didn't involve major butchering of the Chinese language, but stiff nevertheless.
