PLAYER - capsule

capsule's got a new studio album out! It'll be interesting to see some new material after a rather quiet period.

Stay With You: capsule's response to I Gotta Feeling. Nothing too drastic. It's very similar to their Fruits Clippers-era work. Mid-tempo and gentle. Features Toshiko's singing. I'm a little surprised that there wasn't an intro track...

Player: <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... popper.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':popper:' /> This reminds me a bit of The Time is Now from Morex3, but this time with a male English rapper rapping off beat. Kind of a hard, industrial track.

I wish You: A softer, slower, m-flo/Taku ballad. Sung by Toshiko. It reminds me of Perfume's Kiss & Music.

The Music: Very much an anthem type song. It's rather dark and a sort of mid-genre song; it's half trance, half-hard dance. The synth-line being in double harmonic/Arabic scale is strange to me... Sung by Toshiko with male rapping.

Factory: A rather trance-y sort of track. I'd call it a house-ier Climb Up To the Top. Unknown male singer.

I was Wrong: Down-tempo track with hip-hop influences. Very relaxing. The singing (unknown female) is nice. Rather low-energy.

Can I Have A Word: Mid-tempo song with capsule's electro-rock style. Not very rising, but a nice listen. Also, DEM TOMS.

What do you want to do: A twitch-core like song with an interesting snare. Vocals (Toshiko) are very mysterious.

Hello: Mid-tempo electro-inspired DAISHI DANCE-esque song. Vocals by Toshiko. The play between percussion and vocals is nice, but the songs could be longer.

Love or Lies: Theme for "LIAR GAME -The Final Stage" dorama. Nice anthem-y keyboard line. Lots of vocal manipulation. Toshiko's best performance on the album. Roxanne is back from "The Times is Now." Hmm... The song is very lifting and a delight to listen to.

Morex3 definitely wasn't as organic as PLAYER, but it definitely had more soul. I didn't feel blown away by any one track. It falls in this weird hybrid of pop songs that are too long and not inspired and dance music that doesn't really entertain other than a tapping foot.

I'm just going to ask about the group itself here...

The last BBS Idol had one of the capsule songs as background music and it was quite addictive.

What are the best capsule songs ? It seems like one of those electro-music groups (Justice, Daft Punk, Polysics etc.) that I could like a lot.

Capsule is so much awsomeness in a band, the best way is to download the FLASH BEST album.

I prefer Morex3.
