Jero in concert in the US

Don't know how many people still care for him, but I just found out about the following. I'm not going to these, but I'm posting it in case someone nearby wants to go, and also because it's interesting to see Japanese music stars play concerts in the US.



It's not his debut in the US, according to Wikipedia. He played last year at the opening of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in DC, and did a concert at the University of Pittsburgh in August. But this is being billed as his first official U.S. concert tour.

Jerome Charles White, Jr. aka Jero, makes his long-awaited U.S. concert tour debut with his performance in San Francisco this March. As the first African American enka singer in the history of Japanese music, Jero single-handedly reignited interest in the musical ballads that emerged in Japan’s post-war era.[/indent]

Jero will appear as a guest star at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center (JACCC) 30th Anniversary Gala Celebration on Tuesday, March 30. The enka superstar will also delight fans with a full concert the following day at JACCC's Aratani/Japan America Theatre.[/indent]



I haven't heard from him in a while. Is he still doing ok, or has the novelty worn off?

I'm not sure how he's doing, but I still love him. I can't believe he was at the Cherry Blossom Festival last year and I had no idea. I even went to the damn street festival. I really wish I could go to these, but it's too far for me =/ Come back to the east coast Jero!
