Link to the announcement of it not happening? I told a few people about it and was getting them to go, and now I have to break the bad news.

Aw, that's a shame. :(

Also, for anyone who used iHoneyJoo/iHoneyDew, don't bother anymore. The site is now good for nothing more than finding out when things release and getting links to where to buy the shit. I looked over at Rezaprof and they have a lot of the bigger names. Just no OSTs for you anymore. :c

Never heard of them before and that song doesn't really appeal to me, but do the have two (half-)western girls in the group ?

The one at the very beginning reminded me somewhat of Dara.

EDIT:

The last ~5 seconds of the video make my heart melt though.

AP, they have 3 half white half korean girls. That's supposed to be their appeal. The two full Koreans are the ones you don't realize are there because they get no screentime.

Awesome! I had heard about them, but decided they were just a gimmick and didn't bother to check out their song. Thanks for posting it!

No, but seriously: gimmick and novelty aside, I was surprised that the song I posted is actually pretty good!

That song sure did pave it's way into pop culture. Too bad it turned out they were just doing it for the publicity.

Yep. I'm starting to wonder if Kpop will ever get off this trite, boring train it hopped on about 6 years ago. I try to listen to some new Kpop every few months or so and am just more and more disappointed every time I try.

Next up on the kpop in Japan list:

On September 4th, SM Entertainment’s maknae group f(x) announced that they’ll be making their official Japanese debut in January of 2012!

f(x) successfully introduced themselves to several thousand Japanese fans at the ‘SM TOWN Live in Tokyo‘ concerts with their hit tracks, “La Cha Ta“, “Chu“, “Hot Summer“, and “Pinocchio“.

The girls stated, “It’s an honor to perform in the Tokyo Dome. We’ve brought with us some good news — we’ll be officially promoting in Japan starting next year. We’ll return to Japan with a more mature image, so please wait for us.”

In the press conference after the concert, leader Victoria elaborated, “Every time we perform at the SM concerts, I think that we learn a lot from our seniors and come away with the determination to work harder. Early next year, we’ll be making our debut, so we want to take this opportunity to get our name out there. I hope that when we make our debut next year, we’ll receive a lot of support from our Japanese fans.”

I wonder if the girls in Japan will like Amber as much as the girls in Korea.

Way late, but it's aliiiive! Also I just posted my response because they had similar sampling bits. Your song confused me because sometimes I liked it and sometimes I felt ashamed.

Also, YOU'RE WELCOMER.

I'd like to add that if this is what JYP is doing instead of advancing the Wonder Girls, I fully support his endeavors.

Haha, that's a pretty disturbing picture. But yes, JY Park has been one of the top producers in Korea for almost 20 years now. He was producing stuff all the way back in the golden era of Kpop in the mid-late 90's like Park Ji Yoon, G.O.D., and Byul, among a bunch of others. Basically anything that wasn't SM Town was JYP. I'm sure there's a lot of smaller agencies out there now, and some bigger people like Seo Taiji are self-produced, but those were the 2 major production companies back then among the pop groups. Its crazy to see he's still on top of his game, but I guess a lot of people say that about Tsunku, too.

Allkpop has a cute feature on their Top 10 Music Videos in 2011 (so far). I can think of a few that I'd have liked to see on the list, but there's some good stuff among what's on there, especially the stuff I didn't know about.
