The Dream Morning Musume thread

Considering Dream Morning Musume's first album is called 'Dreams 1' an extremely mundane and boring title, hopefully we can expect more from them, why didn't they just call them 'Dreamusume' or something. They had to include the entire morning musume title? I'll still buy it, because you know, awesome, I just wish like a fish that Koharu wasn't there. Where's her big modelling career? She may as well have just stayed in MM.

Well I'm think that they're implying that they're The Dream Morning Musume that everybody wants (and remembers). I'm kinda bummed about not being able to get it when it come out. I couldn't get it because of the gap between it and Maji Desu ka Ska. I might get it over the summer or around Christmas. Anyway, I'm expecting most of the songs to be a ton of Mari, Kaori, Natsumi, and Yuko with Makoto and Koharu being in the back.

And it would be beyond lame to have Ai leave the group (or EriJunLin) only to pop up with DM six months later. As much as I like the old school, it was that particular blend of members at that time that made it great. Also, considering Koharu drove me away from the group until she left, FUCK DREAM MM!!!!!!!!

Fully agreed.

It's rare that a sole member can make you lose interest in a group, but kusumi did the best she could to make it happen.

I have ZERO interest in dream MM because Koharu is in it.

I liked the idea of Koharu. I thought she was pretty, she was polarizing (better to be extremely loved and hated than a "meh"), had a great solo career via Kirarin, and was a lot younger and hyper which broke up the consistency of the group. And, I like a lot of the Kirarin songs, even though I didn't follow her.



But it is probably telling that my lowest fandom fell 2006-2009 (when Shoganai Yume Oibito came out) -- a year after Koharu joined and then right when she left. I think album 6, 7, and 8 are their worst albums of all time.

I like her too. I don't know why people are getting all uppity for her being in this group.

1. You have Hitomi, Yuko, Kaori, Natsumi, Miki, and some other favorite former members to admire.

2. Since you have the people I stated above in the group, it's not like she's going to be a lead in some songs. They're probably going to give her the panda treatment and either give her one line or have all her lines shared.

Well, I wouldn't say "stopped liking", but my love for MM definitely took a huge hit of course.

I'd say 80% of the users here don't like her.

How can anyone not like 8? That's my favorite. Shanimuni Paradise and Haru Beautiful Everday are AWESOME!If anything everyone should hate Fantasy Juuichi. That album is a mess, basically nothing for JunLin and only one song is good and there are like two that are okay. I can honestly say I think it's the worst MM album imho.

Also Koha is far from being my favorite, but I think she has that awkward look people like in high fashion models, and she did bring some personality to MM.

Pardon me for getting all teacher-ish here, but could you elaborate on what you mean by "standoffish?" I'm pretty sure that's not the word you're groping for, but if you could give an example of Maki's behavior that might illustrate what you mean, maybe we can find the right word. I think I know what you're getting at, but I don't wish to put words in your mouth just yet.



@BonkyuAsh: Maki has, arguably, the most beautiful voice to come out of Hello! Project. That's what's so great about her.



@ the rest of you...I miss Koharu and look forward to hearing her screeching tones on this new album.

Mmmm I agree with Saya on this but I'd say she was "aloof." "Standoffish" makes her seem snobby, but I didn't see her like that perse. She was quiet and confident from the get go and this was really odd when she was made center. She explained that she didn't audition to join the group but because she wanted to be a star. And they really played all this up on Hello Morning with that "make Maki laugh because its impossible" game.





Oh yeah: I don't mind Koharu in the Dream Group. I'm jus tsoooooooooooo happy to have the OG members, period. And, it might be interesting to see her "shuffled" in with the OGs.

Madara - watch pretty much any old clip of early Maki. She just never really seemed as friendly with the other girls. If you think about just about any former or current MM member, you can think of which girls she seemed to be close with - 1st/2nd gen in general (not in the beginning, but certainly later), Yossi/Rika, Tsuji/Kago, Sayu/Eri, Ai/Risa, Koharu/Sayu, Miki/Yossi, etc. But who comes to mind when you think of Maki? She never really seemed close with anyone.

Maki didn't have the benefit of joining with anyone else, nor the benefit of entering at a later time when everyone had that teamwork mindset. She seemed to be somewhat friendly with Yossie, though. But Yossie was bffs with a ton of people.

Don't let the title fool you. It says all of them, but it's really just Kaori, Mari, Miki (who looks like a granny), Rika, and Koharu. Seems to be the standard history that everyone has already heard. Mari shows off her sexy beam. They show off the Asayan audition footage (not Rika's although they do show Miki's and Tsuji's), ect. Might be something new in there, but I can't understand it. And don't worry, because Koharu literally does not open her mouth until the last three minutes or so.

Judging by the short live clips they showed, it seems they are allowed to bring out their characters a bit at the concerts, which is great.
