But it's still so cool she's going to have a regular tv gig! That could do big things for her popularity and it's good that Morning Musume have someone with a regular appearance somewhere. Someone needs to put the episode up on the tracker so I can watch it.

It's part of her hair band thingy. Saki had them as well. It's probably the exact same one.

Just watched her first episode and she was freakin' adorable. She really is Sayu and Eri's test tube lovechild. She did great for a live show and having up to two hours of extra Eripon goodness a week will be awesome.



She'll be appearing with the other Oha Maple girls at an event this weekend as well.

And with this replacement, the cutest OhaGirl has become the ugliest. I've finally been able to train myself to look at still photos of Ikuta, but I haven't quite mastered watching videos of her without shuddering yet.

She isn't ugly, she just hasn't mastered the art of making a pretty face when she's smiling and talking. She'll get it eventually.

Hopefully her personality will win people over, as long as she doesn't force it. Like she did with Erina and Momoko, that made me cringe.

I hate how they've been separating out her bangs from the rest of her hair in a weird chunk in all of her other pictures. It looks much better blended with the rest of her hair.



I have my doubts about how rushed this actually was. I have a feeling part of the "due to issues with related parties" that Tsunku mentioned in his Saki comment had to do with her obligations to this show. I'm thinking Tsuku/UFA/whoever had to spend some time working out just who the replacement would be and when they could take over. Even though everyone's blog says "omg so sudden wow shock" I suspect some of them knew already. Especially S/mileage, Eripon herself, and maybe even some of MM. Or maybe Eripon had already been lined up to replace Saki due to the limited tenure of show members. I just can't imagine that the show wasn't informed well in advance that a replacement was going to happen, or that the replacement wasn't being trained. It's one thing for UFA to inconvenience the fans, it's another to inconvenience a TV company they have an established business relationship with.



But regardless, I'm glad 9th gen is getting more promotion. Now we just need Kanon and Fuku-chan to get their own blogs/radio shows/tv spots.

The way she dissapered from OhaSta which nothing more than a short video message, the way it was announced a week before she will quit all activities and so soon after the new member/sub-member thing was announced.



I think maybe the whole sub-member relegation and promotion type thing just pushed her over the edge and she decided no more.

Er...have you read the comments from Tsunku? She told him she wanted to quit way back in May. Saki telling him that she wanted to quit was what caused him to do the new auditions so suddenly and quickly in the first place. He said that the reason the announcement was so sudden for the public was due to issues with "related parties" and "terms of her contract."

Unless a girl does something to break the terms of her contract Kago-style, she can't just leave when she says she wants to leave. From May to August is still a big rush for the industry, especially when PVs and singles are recorded so far in advance. There was probably a bit of a scramble and no real good timing to announce her leaving. And who knows, there may have been some butthurt that prevented her from having a big graduation (or even her own wishes).

H!P always handles things in the same way, they are like a machine and when they do something different there must be something going on, I just don't know what it is.
