I'm watching FNS Kayousai 2017 on disc right now for New Year's Eve. I was unable to find a tracklist, just a list of names of artists performing and not in the order they perform. Anyone know where I can find a tracklist in English?

Right now, early in Disc 3, a young couple is singing "Beauty and the Beast" in Japanese. This followed someone singing a song from "Phantom of the Opera" in English. I wish I knew who the singers were.

Thanks.

Phantom of the Opera is Fujisawa Norimasa and Niizuma Seiko. He's a singer, she's an actress who has released music in the past and she does a lot of theater.

I don't know if anyone is interested in GEM, but they'll disband this spring.

Damn, apparently it's in response to two (newer, I think?) members violating their contracts. Sucks for the older girls. Idol Street is a mess, though.

Edit: I'm mistaken, they're original members. I guess it's just the last straw in a long line of problems. Also, only seven singles and one album in nearly five years? Geez.

I kind of expected this would happen but it’s still disappointing. They had some great songs. There were some problems and there still seems to be some problems in Idol street as a whole. Wa-suta seems to be the only group without too many problems.

NOOOOOO why, they had the most potential of all the iDOL Street groups, I thought. :( :( :(

Fucking hell this is already a shitty hell for my idols.  The B52s were my first musical inspirations, but Dolores O'Riordan was who really inspired me to want to become a singer/badass woman.

Hits keep on rolling. Komuro Tetsuya is retiring because he got caught cheating on his wife with a nurse.

This dude has actually been arrested and found guilty so it's surprising that this is what he feels he can't come back from. Is his wife famous?

She had a stroke several years ago, and apparently know she had the mentality of a child. He claims he never physically cheated, but he did seek a mature, emotional relationship with that woman.

Anyone have any J-pop guy group recommendations? I tried googling it and just got a list of really old guy groups, which is not really what I was going for.

I don't really listen to any of these, but here are some I know of.

These three are all under Stardust:
Bullet Train Got their first #1 on Oricon last year
DISH//
PrizmaX Been around since 2002, went through a billion lineup changes, started releasing in 2013. Most members are in their late 20s, but at least they're not middle aged.

FlowBack - pretty new, good luck searching for them on Youtube.
BOYS AND MEN - Nagoya based group, did that theater promo thing with MM in 2016 or whatever.
MeseMoa - Originally a Morning Musume cover group. Released a video where they kissed a lot and got a lot of views.

I like Da-ice! And of course there's plenty in Johnny's, both new and old, though admittedly I don't know much about them. (Going outside of YouTube for music is just too much effort for me not gonna lie)

Once again, there are just so many extremely pretty members in SNH48.
The song does absolutely nothing for me, though.

After noticing she does a lot of anime opening and ending themes I've really liked, I've got way into LiSA.

Thankfully a lot of her music is on US iTunes.

I found a good piano cover of Ren’ai Revolution 21 by Nagafuji Mana. I haven’t heard of her before but she seems to be a good pianist and has an interesting music video. I hope Showroom Records actually does something with her since their track record with a previous group wasn’t good.

Has anybody here heard of TiA? She was a J-pop performer until 2014 when she chucked it all and came to New York, where she has since become a gospel singer.

I never heard of her until this article:

<div>For some reason, the new video by Da Pump kept popping up in Youtube's suggestions as I was getting caught up with H!P's recent releases. The still for the video features the title of the song U.S.A. in a big, bold pink outline of Impact font on top of a darkly lit full shot of the guys with their backs turned. "U.S.A., you say? Let's check this out!"</div>
<div> </div>
<div>This is the most ridiculous thing I've seen in years, and I love it. Straight-up late-90s Eurobeat music with dance moves to match, and an insanely catchy melody. I have no idea what the lyrics are, as there are apparently no translations online anywhere. They could be running America down, which would be disappointing and make me like it less, but everything about this  -- the music, production, melodies, dance moves, outfits, and video (save for some modern video effects)-- is like a time capsule from the turn-of-the-century Japanese pop music world. The fact that it's all done with apparent seriousness -- no one breaks character or cracks a sarcastic smile -- makes it even more fun. I've never been in to boy-groups, but this is so silly and so well done that I can't help give it up for Da Pump here.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I'll leave you with two words as motivation to go check this out: Chinese. Typewriter.</div>

It’s been getting compared a lot to older H!P releases (just the overall sound) which is likely why it kept showing up.
