Jurina and Whats her face will probably stay in AKB till the dust settles after Maeda is gone and Team 8 is established and they'll then be removed and sent back to their hometowns hopefully with a few more fans in their pockets. I expect some sort of team shuffle in the lower ranks, just to mess with people. And a whole lot more jostling in the future. I'm still hoping some of SDN will reappear. (Fat chance that.)



Graduations are a part of the idol groups, you live with it and move on and find someone new or you leave. That's how the world of idols has always and will forever work.

As someone who only peripherally follows this group, I can say that she's my favorite and I have no idea why. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':mellow:' /> I think she's the prettiest, but beyond that, no clue why I latch onto her so easily. I was the same way with Yoona in SNSD, and after getting into the group, I wonder how I could ever think Yoona's prettier than the vastly more beautiful girls around her. I honestly think it has something to do with Atsuko being the most recognizable (only recognizable?) member who's pushed to hell and back on every damn single that imprints itself on far more casual fans. And she's definitely much more... how do you say it... standard? She's beautiful in the most traditional sense, and you don't have to know squat about her personality to think she's pretty while--at least for me--other girls are much more beautiful based on a combination of great personality and looks.

Eri, they have done a lot of graduations, it has just been a long time since the last one (Ono Erena) and that was at a Theater performance. Oshima Mai got a theater sendoff, with two other girls in 09.



Showraniy, I get you. Atsuko is one of the members that appeals to Non fans as well. My BF thinks it's because she's very much the girl next door. I will miss her, just not like those sobbing over her. She has always been in AKB48, so it will be strange when she is gone.

^ FFS she's not pregnant. She's overworked to buggery. Reading her blog she barely gets 5 hours sleep a night if she's lucky. She's doing dramas, musicals, concerts, photobooks, I also got the feeling she was never super comfortable being their number 1 girl. She wants an acting career and good for her. I came in here to demand information on Lemon but wanted to follow up on this sexxxay photobook conversation.



During Xmas, my husband and I wandered around DenDen Town for a bit in the evening (Kansai's version of Akihabara). It was basically....porn shop, maid cafe, porn shop, food, electronics, porn anime, maid cafe...



What threw me off was the rows and rows of idol posters and dvds prominently displayed in the windows of the hardcore, super shady porn stores. I don't think it is an AKB thing. There was lots and lots of AKB48 (no H!P) next to other idols i did not know. I don't necessarily think it is because H!P is so much more innocent but maybe just because they aren't so popular these days. Also, AKB48 was also generally everywhere so I think shops just follow the times. I think I also saw some AKB idol porn dojinshi in this dojin shop we popped into....it was so creepy that my husband and I left immediately so I cannot be sure.



It reminded me that for every Disney tween idol fanboard full of giddy 14 year old girls, there are pervy sub-reddits populated by creeps counting down to their 18th bday or trading photoshop porn jpgs with each other. Japan is the same. The difference is, I think AKB has always embraced and faced this world head on whereas other idol groups are always sort of wink wink hee hee nooo we're innocent but teehee bikinis.

So of course I have a problem with it and I tend to ignore it and focus on the music and the happy. Rose colored glasses work best for such cases.



And AKB is 100% more open about it then H!P ever was. It wasn't till probably AKB came out and started to dominate that the bikini photobooks and sexualization started to become priority #1 in the eyes of UFA.

She'll be in the single though, it would be stupid not to have her in the single because now it will sell 1,000 more copies just because it's her last ON TOP of the fact that it's an election single and since her #1 spot wont be there and the wota will come out in masses buying singles so there girl will get that #1 spot, why the hell wouldn't you? That's like saying Takahashi shouldn't be in her graduation single because she wont be around to promote it. I'm sure Maeda fans would be pretty upset if she up and graduated from 48 without having her last hurrah with the group. I know other members have left, but this isn't like a no name member leaving, this is THE face of AKB48.

We've been hearing the audio previews for a few weeks now, and the song is awful, and that whole "everyone is dying" part of the PV looks equally terrible. The swimsuit part is pretty well done, but the choreography is really bad, too. This is their first big stinker of a single since Sakura no Ki Ni Narou. Hopefully the b-sides make up for it.
