Anyone know what the deal with http://party.hello-ranking.com/2010/ is?
I just noticed it on Kago's twitter, but the site itself only offers unsatisfying coquetry.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
it's a big H!P fan party in the US, run by fans. One of the organizers tweeted Kago asking if she'd donate an autograph (I guess there are prizes/auctions and such).

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Just a few questions about the MM Single Vs:
Was "Souda! We're Alive" the first Single V?
Was there a Single V for "Koko ni Iruzee!", if not was there any particular reason?
Same question as above for "Kanashimi Twilight".
Thanks <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' />.
Ooops meant to put this in H!P 101 Question thread <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/doh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
I have official VHS releases of MM singles that are older than "Souda We're Alive," including "Love Machine" and "Koi no Dance Site." And my copy of "Souda! We're Alive" is indeed on VHS. They all have "Making of" clips following the video. Well, except for "Love Machine" which has a whole bit with Maki in a record store, plus a prologue at the beginning. I also have "Do It! Now" on VHS and several older H!P single-V's, including the various pre-2003 shuffle units and Maki Goto singles.
I believe the oldest MM Single V I have on DVD is "Shabondama" (2003). And then "Ai Araba It's All Right." I have "Hyokkori Hyou Tanjima," also from 2003, on VHS. Any H!P single-V before 2003 I have on VHS. Anything after 2003 I have on DVD. 2003=both VHS and DVD.
A quick check of CDJapan indicates that the oldest MM Single V they offer seems to be "Souda! We're Alive," as you indicated.
Don't know if this helps.

Souda was the first on DVD. Love Machine and Koi no Dance Site were released on VHS shortly after the single releases. The singles between Koi no Dance Site and Souda did not get single Vs, but were released on compilations eventually.
Both Koko ni Iruzee and Kanashimi Twilight did not get single Vs, because they were released on Single V compilations soon after: Koko ni Iruzee + making on MM Single M Clips 2, and Kanashimi Twilight + Close-up Ver + making on MM Single M Clips 4.
Later singles without Single V releases include Mikan (included on MM All Singles Complete DVD) and more recently, Nanchatte Renai (included on MM Single M Clips 5).

Thank you kindly Administrator for correcting my mistake.
Thank you also Madara and Juju, that's answered my questions <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':whatthe:' />. The only problem is that being a sad completist I will probably have to look out for the VHS singles, why couldn't I have got interested in a group that only releases one single a year and an album every three years!
If I can slip in one more question, how common in Japan is it to release 3 or 4 versions of a single and/or a Single V?

I've found the VHS editions only at Japanese stores that sell used tapes/CDs/DVDs, etc. Book Off is the main one that has branches in different cities. I see "Love Machine" and "Koi no Dance Site" all the time.
Seems like in the past couple of years, since MM's "Resonant Blue," MM, Berryz and C-ute have routinely released multiple versions of their single videos. Which frustrates the hell out of me when I'm looking mainly for the Dance Shot versions and for a long time CDJapan didn't indicate which release had that version. (They've figured out how to indicate it since then.)

That page is for a "TV series" called "Musume.Dokyu!"
It stars MM, Biyuden and BK.
Anyone know what this series is like? Do they at least sing in it?
Thanks.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
They don't sing in "Musume Dokyu". If I remember correctly, they were just short little 4-minute segments where the girls just basically talked to the camera while doing something in their "home". It was the same short format that eventually "UtaDoki" and "Yorosen" (etc) used.
Oh wait, I think some were subtitled... yeah, here are some Koharu ones on youtube, since I know she's your girl:
Part 1 2 3 4 5
So yeah, they're basically like that.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Dokyu was one of the better shows, I think. Each girl got to plan what the next girl did in her segments. I love Koharu forever for asking Miki to learn English, so they brought in someone to tutor her. So funny.

Was that the one where one of the girls (Miki?) said that Yossi had to dress up in a cute fashion? She did and conclusively proved that the words Yossi and cute should never appear in the same sentence and I say this as a Yossi fan .
Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Hahaha yes, and she knitted and made heart cookies. It was hilarious.
Although, I believe it was Makoto that had Yossi dress up like that.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
There are five volumes on CDJapan. Anyone have any idea which volumes are the best?
Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Honestly, Madara, get them all. They were all really enjoyable. I'm guessing there are probably 2 "seasons" per DVD, as each girl got a week.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
A little more info: IIRC, Dokyu evolved into other mini-Musu shows. I don't have any in front of me, but I remember one in a similar format where Miki and Aya went to an aquarium. That series was mostly out-and-about stuff instead of living roomusume.
Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
There are 6 volumes of the show on DVD. Really it's hard to say which volume is better. For example, the youtube links above are from Volume 4, according to the show's wikipedia page.

I have always felt very sorry for the ones were they made Reina go on a series of roller coaster rides, the poor girl got greener and greener until she threw up <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/sick.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':danceman:' />. Since she confessed to getting car sick you would have thought that was the last thing the TV director would ask her to do....... you would think that wouldn't you?

Pucchimoni V - Pira ! Otome no onegai
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PgtHzHRRgA
This song was posted before here, now I'm asking myself if there's a studio version or if the old Pucchimoni also was singing this song.
It doesn't seem to be on the only Pucchimoni album I was able to find though; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zenbu!_Petitmoni

Oh, so the new-old groups got new material, I thought they were just for performing the old songs.
Thanks for the info, I will dl it from H!O then.
EDIT:
My ears are bleeding !
The live version is so much better, I don't like the studio version at all.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Has anybody seen the Sexy Onnajuku DVD: http://www.yesasia.com/global/1003539202-0-0-0-en/info.html, what in the name of all that's holy is going on?
As far as I can make out it starts with Rika Ishikawa, Miki Fujimoto, Hitomi Saito and Mai Satoda apparently in a basement at UFA that has been decorated in the style of a downmarket lap dancing club, they are all dressed in very short red PVC outfits <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... ebleed.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':popper:' />. A disembodied voice seemingly tells them to do a number of things in a sexy fashion which they then proceed to do. At random times clips of Maki Goto appear, God knows why. After a while Miki disappears and Mari Yaguchi arrives, then Hitomi departs and Ayaka appears whilst all the time continuing to do sexy things.
For those of you who now need a cold shower and a lie-down in a darkened rooms for a few days forget it, all the girls seem to be fairly bored/embarrassed and there is only so much of Charmy and her little girl voice (as in her opening lines in As For One Day) that I can take and even Hitomi doesn't really put any effort into it compared with her "Sexy" persona she does in MKB concerts.
It's 100 minutes of my life I won't see again, actually that's an exaggeration as after about 20 minutes I put it on fast-forward and even that didn't improve it <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... eeping.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />. Please tell me I'm missing something and I haven't wasted $40 <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /frown.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
You're questioning the motives of an H!P show? xD LOL!!!
Anyway after it was all over they got together as a group, called themselves Romans and released a single "SEXY NIGHT ~Wasurerarenai Kare~". That was when H!P had a disposable budget for crap like that, the PV was awesome compared to today's standards. :<

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Ah, it was before Romans was it, I hadn't thought to check the dates.
Of course "Sexy Night" was one in the series of "Hey I've found somewhere we can hire aquaria with tropical fish cheap". See also "As For One Day", "Kokuhaku Kinenbi" and I think there were one or two more that escape me for the moment but I will probably kick myself when somebody reminds me.
Also Yaguchi looked damn hot in "Sexy Night".

Sexy Night is fucking awesome in every way and I will not let any of you tell me otherwise.
Also, W's Samishii Nettaigyou had fish in it. That PV is fucking HORRIBLE. Almost as horrible as W's remake of that song itself.
But is IS an album song, so I guess it has an excuse for the PV to suck.

Hey, no argument from me. I think I am right in saying that anything that has Hitomi Saito and Mari Yaguchi in has to be awesome, it's a law or old charter or something.

While I have no argument with your description of the "Sexy Night" video, there are levels of awesomeness that far exceed it and one of the highest levels of such is occupied by W and just about everything they did. I put it to you that "Samishii Nettaigyou" is on that highest of levels, both the video and their rendition of the song, which was nice enough when Wink performed it, but even better when W did it. Sorry, but I must defend the extraordinary achievements of two of the most unique entertainers in human history from naysayers who simply don't recognize greatness when put before them in such a tidy and petite package. Fie on you. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... >/hmph.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':cryalot:' />

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
I came across this video today for "Aisha Loan De." So far the song's only appearance I've found was on the third Morning Musume album. I was curious if anyone knew why they made a PV for this particular song. They don't normally do videos just for an album's release unless this is an exception. That and the fact Mari looks hella cute in her Annie Hall hat and behind the wheel of a Austin Mini Countryman.

DANCE Suru no Da got two/three music videos kinda! One was just promotional and the other was a double-rowed, panoramic, one-shot clip in 360 degrees. The "third" is the same as the second, but it's interactive and was on the Space Penis Venus PS2 game.
