It's an old press term used by reporters trying to beat their competition. Here's a Google definition:

"Obtain (something that is desired) by persuading others to comply or by manipulating events."

Oh gosh- it's on the East Coast this time so I can actually go. It's only a 7-9 hour drive from Canada, and I've been wanting to visit New York again too. The only thing is I'm really afraid of the humidity! Is it really hot in June? I was in the area in August last time and almost got heat stroke. :-(

It's not like you live in the North Pole, do you? Weather around these parts is always fickle. It could be nice, it could be rainy or a blister 90 degree day. All up to luck of the draw. My vote is on hot and bothered with a chance of rain just to screw with your good times.

It really depends! I went to New York a few times, and there's only a few degrees difference from Montréal weather. I don't think it's a big deal!
