oh my god yes please I'm so in lurve. *_* I never got into those musicals MM did with Takarazuka (my hate of Takahashi is to blame for that hahahaha) but I remember those ladies outsang them so well it was embarrassing.

In times like this, I feel pretty sad that none of my friends irl are into my nerd hobbies. No one but you guys to get excited with about Sailor moon musicals or bake Sailor Moon cookies with, you know what I mean?

Eri, I was going to do a writeup after I watched the subbed version in case I missed anything overly adorable I'll link to it. I was also planning on livestreaming it tomorrow during the day (for me). I don't know what your time zone is or what your work schedule is like, but you're more than welcome to join if you can—and that goes for everyone here! It'll probably be around noon-ish EST. I'll post it up on my Takarazuka tumblr when I start (linked in my sig). I have the same problem with my irl friends, so I've been doing a lot of livestreams lately. I streamed the raw on Sunday and it was a lot of fun :D

 Ah I was going to suggest a bbs watch party. I'm PST but tomorrow at 9am, I'll be at a doctor's appointment :(

No, it is a really long doctor's appointment and we have to follow up with baby stuff afterwards -- a day long affair.  But the evening would be perfect - not sure what your schedule is like.  I should be done with everything by 6pm PST (9pm EST).  
 
A BBS watch party would be fun too because there are so many people here who <3 it.

I already watched it. If they make Mamoru as awesome as this in the reboot, he'd be my favorite character ever. I totally got myself a lady crush. xD 
 
But daaamn those heals kind of ruined it for me every time and reality kept setting in again. 
 
I don't care much for the girl who played Ami. I don't know if it was her fault or the way it was scripted? It felt more like the Mars, Venus, Jupiter show. 
 
Momoka is my favorite member of MomoCloZ so I was super happy to see her.
 
The 4 generals were channeling The 3 Lights pretty hard core if you ask me. 
 
Also, they either need to work on makeup or turn up the A/C because that shine on the girl who played Sailormoon was something fierce.

quick 2 second review of the musical:


the actress who plays Mamoru is so damn good, seriously SO GOOD, she ends up making the show look REALLY amateur by contrast. The Shittennou were really bad but everyone else was so much better than expected. I liked Venus so much and Queen S was a nice surprise.


The storyline was surprising - a nice recap of the mythology. Kind of heavy for a kid's show.


I would love to see Chibi Usa in a reboot.

I know the cats don't belong in the musical, I saw the first one, I know how wrong it is. But dammit if I don't still miss them! They have such presence in the manga and anime and not having them just feels wrong.

I think the only way they could include the cats in the musicals without repeating the horror of the first one is to use stuffed animals with off stage voice overs like in PGSM. But I dunno, I think that kind of feels awkward in a musical. When you're doing a stage show you really don't want cast that doesn't actually appear on stage. Unless they were able to get the original seiyuu again.
