I thought Chocolate Damashii was a Matsuura cover as soon as I saw the title but it doesn't say it is. DVD is 6800 yen but I guess that's not too steep if you're a hardcore Kikka fan.

The way they're marketing her is so bizarre. They keep having an excess of PVs/A-sides with everything they do, it almost seems like overkill, and the whole cover album thing was a mess since they brought in a bunch of amateur vocaloid producers to fuck up some great songs, but I hope this goes back to a more normal kind of production like her stuff before that.



And damn, I really hope that is a Matsuura cover, cause that's still one of my favorite songs from her.

Not much variation on the covers, still like them. Hope this single is good. Darling to Madona was difficult to enjoy. Wayyyy to much going on and to much 80s stuff going on in the background. They are going to have to promote her the Aya way or else she'll fade into obscurity. I like her.

I had a dream last night that I was having this full blown conversation with her during a fan meet/autograph session. It was so bizzare because at one point the room was full of fans and then the next, it was just us alone in the room. All I remember of the conversation was me trying to talk to her in broken Japlish.



Those are probably some of the best album covers she's done so far. I really like the colors used. It's very Valentines dayish.

Okay, now THESE are some great cover songs! I say this in contrast to my post in the C-ute thread, haha. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... hahaha.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':hahaha:' /> This isn't just my absolute adoration for Kikkawa talking, and her being able to do no wrong. I feel the same affinity for Okai and for C-ute, but well, their single couldn't be saved by that alone. These are genuinely good arrangements, both instrumental and vocal. Wonderful audio level balancing, something that doesn't get enough credit - really the whole shabam. And even though I've been hearing the Yuming song for two decades, and listened to Ayaya's original single too many times to count, I could still see myself listening to these covers a lot. The originals being ingrained in my head doesn't hurt that.

Funny you should mention that, as this version of Chocolate Damashii is actually arranged by T-POCKET (a famous Vocaloid arranger.) I have a lot more respect for his work now, though, as it's easier to appreciate when there's actual organic voices being used. I was initially really worried upon reading that, as I'd expected it to be another vocoder festival. Also because the original Ayaya version of the song was arranged by Mutou Seiji, easily one of my favorite arrangers - and he did such a fantastic job on the original.



And even talking about songs Mutou arranged, I have NMB's Girlfriend song stuck in my head!
