Me too. It is too bad Japanese idols don't get a boost from general notoriety in the same way that Americans do.  For every bratty Erika Sawajiri or vain Sayumi, there are probably a hundred blacklisted ones.  What ever happened to Minegishi Minami?! As far as I'm aware, she genuinely never really recovered from that head shaving incident last year.

According to wikipedia, she's the captain of Team 4 now.
So I guess she has recovered, at least her career to some degree.

Apparently one of the girls auditioning is a  Kaga Remi, a member of akihabara backstage pass (or a former member). She's the girl with the really short hair.

Yeah, it's her. She was in their first two singles. Her and another girl graduated earlier in the year to focus on a duo they'd formed, but it fell through and they disbanded in November. She's said that she previously went by Kaga Remi on her blog, so I guess she auditioned for this under a new name.
 
She's opened up a blog where she mentions that she auditioned. As well as a twitter account.

Reimi needs to be in this group and she needs to be a main singer. Ryouna needs to be in this group based on the eye-candy factor alone.

Right. I think Ryouna gets 30K easy; Reimi I'm not so sure about. She looks just fine in the photo they used on her voting page, but not so much with that short hair she has in the videos, and I don't have any faith in Japanese wota types to cast a vote based on anything other than KAWAIIII~!!!!

Ryouna is staying consistently behind in points, so I wouldn't be too sure about that. She looks kind of gyaru whereas Reimi by far has more of the approachable, idol-like face, not to mention huge tits and a decent voice. I feel like she kind of has the advantage.  She's very girl next door which has a massive appeal to wota types.  Ryouna looks a little more distinguished, if that makes any sense.
 
Also, is it just me or does 30k seem like a kind of ridiculously high number? Is there even that much interest in this project, much less that many people willing to make an account and vote every day?

Reimi made it to 20k points (they changed it from 30k to 20k). The other girl is still 5000 points away and only has about 19 hours left. Making it so that an account wasn't necessary to vote sped up the process.

So there's themes, but you can pretty much submit whatever you want. Unlike the voting, you must be signed up for this. They're accepting until 3/31.
 
A third audition has also been started, and they're taking submissions from girls aged 15-20. It looks like they won't be doing voting for this one. So at the end of it all, it looks like it'll be Kago, Reimi, Ryouna once she's done training, and a girl from this audition.

It looks like they have named the group Girl's Beat, and their debut single is set to drop on July 22. The group will consist of Kago, Reimi and Ryona.
