Kago Ai forming a girl group?

I waited a few days to see if anyone else knew about this, (I hope I didn't break any topic posting rules)
 
Aibon announced on her blog that she is forming a new 4 member girl group (Including her). Its for girls ages 15-21, they have to live in Tokyo area.
 
Kago is going to pick 2 of the girls and apparently she is looking for girls with special abilities.

4 members, including herself, but there will be 4 girls? Who is the 4th? Also, why is the age limit so low? A 15 year old working alongside Kago would just be strange at this point...

A little more in depth info:
It's backed by Diamond Blog.
It's supposedly going to be crowd-sourced. "Fans will submit lyrics, music, costume design, etc, and it will be voted for online."
They're looking for 2 to 4 members, aged 15-21.
Will be taking requests for cover songs on various themes - e.g., girls group songs from the 90's.
The set list for concerts will voted on by the fans.
 
And some stuff from elsewhere:
Stage 1: Judging of documents

Stage 2: Judging of singing and dancing

Stage 3: Interview, swimsuit and special talent
 
Fans will vote on the girls who pass the third stage. 1 month for entries, 1 month for auditions, 1 month for voting, 2 weeks to count votes.

No, more like a 15 year old working along a media trainwreck mid-20s mother with a criminal history. I like Kago and want to see her do well, but anything she does at this point should be more mature, or at least genuine, and a girl group with teenagers won't make for this and would just be horribly strange and artificial. Even if it ends up being more mature and genuine, a teenage girl would seem out of place and forced. There are exceptions, but...

This is a pretty cool concept. I wish I was good at writing pop music.
 
I hope online voting will not be the only arbiter of these things, though, as that could lead to hijacking/trolling or just general poor decisions. This has the potential to be brilliant, but it has an even bigger chance to suck really bad.
 
I still have a soft spot for Kago, though, so I'm hoping this ends well.

Since it was mentioned, this is Kago's agency. She's the only name they have right now, so she was probably involved in setting it up.

I would've thought that she'd be writing the songs since she seems to be pretty good at it :) No Hesitation and Children Of The Night are beautiful especially Children Of The Night :)

I heard through an unnamed source that is probably 95% bogus that the agency Kago is in now, was set up by her husband. 
 
In any event, I like the concept of a fan made music group and can't wait to see where it goes. Also, still have a soft spot for Kago, so I do hope she can turn her life around and do some good. Every train wreck needs their Robert Downy Jr. moment!

^ I agree, the poor girl has gone through a lot and I've pretty much forgiven her. I agree with you about the fan made music too :) Even though I would've liked it if she wrote the music herself I'm still going to give the fan music a chance because it'll mean that this group is performing songs that the people want :)

I still love Aibon and anything that might allow me to still see and hear new things out of her is a good thing in my book. I really hope that this works out for her because the poor girl has been through enough.

I don't know about what style. Kago's solo style was like jazz/country-ish, but they might be just your normal bubblegum pop group, who knows.

There were two girls who I didn't think were very cute but other than that no one actually sticks out as particularly awful. As far as idol auditions go, I think they've narrowed it down to a pretty decent set of girls.

edit: On a more serious note (since I'm not set to lurk-mode for once) I'm really excited to see what comes out of this. Kago's handshake event for her No Hesitation single is the only H!P event (of sorts) I've attended and she left a really lovely impression. /humblebrag

I like that the girls are really pretty.  Usually older stars pick girls uglier than them so they stand out.
 
I feel like Kago's scandals were no different than the crap that child stars in America go through.  Thankfully she's no Miley.   What teenager doesn't do stupid stuff, hopefully she learned her lesson.

I'm personally more interested in the stupid stuff Kago's done as an adult. Smoking and dating older guys don't really interest me as far as scandals go.


That said, I think this will die off like Kago's last few efforts, but I hope it's awesome and gives us good releases or something first.
