Now my question is... was that number achieved by casual fans/those who don't know the group much but liked the songs, or was it mainly Berryz wota (either in large numbers or buying in large numbers)

It's the last single. Wota seem to want berryz to go out with a bang. (I think they've sold more than C-ute).

That's understandable, even though that single isn't their best to me.
C-ute's best single sold like 68k copies so yes.
