[2015.03.25] Country Girls - Itooshikutte Gomen ne/Koi Dorobou

I officially love everything about this group. They sound so much like baby Berryz to me, and they are just adorable. Itooshikute Gomen Ne has been stuck in my head for days.

Some new things I observed....
 
1. I like that Momoko is kind of still a gag. Like the opening where they X out her cutesy act.
 
2. I also like that Momoko is not center stage. She blends in well because she is young looking and cute but, I'm glad they are allowing her to be more a leader (puppet master per the video haha).
 
3. These girls are SO AMATEUR. Everything about this video is awkward. They can't dance. They don't lip sync the English well. They aren't really that good looking (sorry, truth!). But somehow this all makes it PPPEEERRFFEECCTTTT.

I know what you mean! Like if you take C-ute for example, their so polished vocally and dance wise where your impressed by their professionalism. And with CG, it's like the rawness of the idol which makes it so great! I only disagree on the looks things because I think this a very visually high group. (There isn't a single member that I don't think is cute, which is rare, but that's a matter of opinion.)


Momoko, Manaka, and Risa actually dance fine (I mean Manaka an amazing dancer) but since they're in the back the 3 newbies color the video which gives it that rawness!

Well C-ute has also had 10 years to home their skills. I think Country Girls and Kobushi Factory are miles ahead of Berikyuu when they first debuted.

EXACTLY, thank you!  I used to think S/mileage had this kind of sweet, raw quality when they first came out whereas Morning Musume, Berryz, and Cute seemed much more polished, mature, and "cool." The dorkiness of Country Girls makes a sweet contrast. 
 
Edit: Though I wanted to add....
They still seem like an idol group. When Berryz came out with Piri, they sounded pretty much like a children's school chorus.

But for a better example, comparing JJ to CG, when JJ even had their first indies song Watashi ga Iu Mae ni, they had a very cool and mature aura going on even then. I think JJ will definitely be the group that fills in C-ute's space when they graduate.


I think it's only natural that Kobushi Factory is better than Berryz when they debuted, they're older so their voices are more developed.

I think, if CG had gotten the indie's treatment before being thrown into the major debut ring right off the bat, they might not look so raw. But I enjoy this aspect of them because it reminds me of Berryz. Unlike any other group that came after them, they didn't go indies and went straight for Major release so there was a lot of work that needed to be done before they got their groove. It's refreshing to see groups grow like this instead of getting the polished ones like Juice=Juice and C-ute when they went major after their indies releases. 
 
And yes to the markers. Though I wish they had used different markers. You can barely see the lighter colored markers. I think it's cute, they are all highlighter colors. Haha.

This is just such an amazing start.... I definitely like Koi Dorobo's PV better... Songs are both soooooo good. Idk if I like one over the other which is really saying something. I think this group alone is giving a lot of hope/love to (at least foreign) fans.

I'm kind of obsessed with this group right now. :D Itooshikutte is a slightly better song, Koi Dorobou is a slightly better MV (in my opinion, of course), but it's such a good debut single overall. They're just sooo cute!
