I figure since this "unit" has been featured in H!P consistently at concerts for about a year now (and numerous times on H!S w/ rehearsal vids), it deserves its own thread, imo. 
 
 

 
 
What is the H!S Dance Club?
 
It is a unit (club) of the best dancers currently in H!P. It was started in October of 2013, so it has been around for over 4 years. The group learns a dance taught by a different choreographer than usual, and together as a group performs it at H!P summer and winter concerts.

Let's be real, about 70% of the girls in here are average dancers at best LOL so she's not the only one!  Thus why both of those performances were littered w/ errors.  That said, it's a fun idea and I'm glad they do it!

Do we have who used to be members at one point? I know there used to be quite a few that aren't doing it now.
 
I'm so excited to see Manaba the center for the dances since she joined. She's mesmerizing to watch! I also never get why Kudou is always near the front.. and every episode with a dance practice, she always is super dramatic about the dances at the end....

She's below average, imo. She's not the only one in here who I would consider to be bad, but most are not as bad as she is.

Captain and Miyabi were in it. Miyabi dropped it before they ever performed though. Mizuki, Dawa, Kanon were also in it. As well as Sayuki and Karin.

I don't think it's so bad that Maria is here. Excluding a couple of girls, the rest are not impressive dancers so it's a nice opportunity for Maria to be here since the new girls always suck at dancing and thanks to this Maria will catch up with the rest of the group really quick.

I agree. It gives her a push to hopefully step up her dancing to become one of the top girls in that as well. She may not ever be the best singer but dancing is the next best thing! It didn't look like she was doing that badly either.

Well, the only two members they have who would really be good enough for it left a year ago. It's either add them back in or put in some more new questionable additions.

Not to mention they're doing 220 concert performances within a year... that doesn't leave much time for misc rehearsals....

The dance club's new performance with its new members was featured this week on H!S. I updated "Concert performances" with it. 
 
Choreography/pace is a bit different than the past few performances. Although pretty much all their routines so far have been male-inspired (and by male choreographers as far as I know), this one seems to be the most masculine so far.

Ikuta, Murota, Funaki, and Akiyama ...I also assume that Nakky and Maimi are out since they didn't participate in the Winter Tours (I thought I saw Karin too, but I have to rewatch it).
 
YAS... 27:07...behind Makino, there's Karin (also I didn't see Eripon in the 2nd half) so now we have 15 in the club now?

Ahhh, so that clears it up. The one I couldn't identify was Chisaki Morito. Whenever I see her away from the rest of Country Girls, I can't recognize her.

Chisaki is starting to morph into Riho, especially now that she's been keeping her hair down.

So that's the key to recognizing Chisaki when she's away from CG. Just look for "Riho" and I'll know it's Chisaki. Got it. (Another "Riho" is certainly not a bad thing in my book.)

So I finally watched the Dance Station number on the Winter 2017 concert DVD. The stage is so dark I could hardly recognize anyone. I spotted Haruka, Rikako, Maria and Mao and maybe one or two others. Plus they have them weighed down in heavy hoodies. Hard to dance strenuously with so much heavy clothing on.  Also, they flash the names of each participant on the big screen over the stage during the number, but the camera's not always aimed at the screen so we only see a handful of names.
 
At least in the Hello! Station rehearsal footage we can see them!
 
There's one girl in the rehearsal footage I don't recognize and by process of elimination, I determine that it's none other than Chisaki. See? Without CG around her, I'm lost.
