Looks like Kago doesn't use emoticons. And her blog also runs on Wordpress so the automatic post prepper will work really well.

The only thing is you might not be able to click the picture to get the full size. But people can always go to the original site. I can test this out if you're definitely interested in translating Kago.

So I'd like to give Kago a try. I can get started as soon as I finish catching up with Sayu and Kikka (should be tomorrow). See this post. You'll still have to get the date from original site so ignore step 5. Her RSS feed has the time as well if you want to copy the date from there instead of making up a time. The posts are being grabbed at 23:00 server time, 5 at a time. Let me know what works better for you.



Also, I put Kago under Morning Musume OG with an OG ribbon. Her color is maroon. Let me know of any objections to this!

When big news hit H!P, I think we should try to be the first to do the blog related news.



Since Saki announced her graduation, other people got dibs on Wada's, Kanon's, and Yuuka's blog translations. So even if you translate someone else, I think it's more important to just put the news forth first. And make a news post that accumulates all the posts together.

Yes, as I said some time ago (I think I did) - when there's something important going down, just go ahead and translate it asap, even if it's not on your primary blog. In the worst case, having a duplicate translation on b!p is better than having no translation until a day or two after everyone else got it. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... umbsup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Berry, by "even if you translate someone else" do you mean that we should step in and take over a girl if the translator seems busy? I don't mind doing that if I happen to have the time, I just don't want to misinterpret and end up stepping on someone's toes.



In theory it's nice to be first with the news, but in reality with time zones, jobs, people having lives, and valuing sleep, we're inevitably going to get beat by the people who spend 24/7 on the internet and rush to do crap translations the second news hits (see: the crap translations of the announcement going around by someone at H!O). Personally, I think it's more realistic for us to prioritize those type of posts before any other backlog and get to them quickly as we can, and be the source that provides the best quality translations. That's just my opinion of course, but that's mostly what you're going to get out of me if news comes in while I'm busy at work/sleeping/etc. =/

That being said, it looks like Sayu has yet to blog about it but I'll keep an eye out. I think her posts go through essentially a moderation queue, so it might be delayed.



And re: Kago, I'll test out things today :)



Edit: Ack! I misread Rob's post and thought he had translated Wada and Yuuka already. Wada is done, working on Yuuka now so she'll be up shortly.

^ Thanks for picking those up, TnB. Of course they'd announce this late in the evening when I'm past checking up on H!P news and stuff... and then of course sleeping lol. Then got to work this morning and it's been busy the whole time @_@



I was wondering if C-ute would say something about it as well (since ChisaNakkyMai especially are pretty close to Sakichy), but none of them have any posts up yet tonight... I wonder if management is holding them for some reason given the situation? In any case, I'll try to keep an eye on things over the next day or so to get those out right away, and others I might come across (though that's normal).



Edit: I just noticed too that Nakky's Ameba hasn't even been updated since early in the morning (JPN time). They're obviously holding blog posts because of the big news. Captain's still updated though, so I'll see what she has to say... though she wasn't as close to her as C-ute. That may be why she's still updating

TnB: the auto prep has a weird timing cycle. I usually have to wait a 24 hour period to get my auto-prepped things. It is a confusing transition and sometimes I go ahead and do it myself anyway.

I think so. A lot of live in different time zones so I think it's better to do that. But if you guys don't like it, you guys are welcome to say! It's just that we have translators doing S/mileage's blog every day and it really sucks to see someone else take the credit when huge news hit. You know what I mean? At the very least, I think it's better blog!project as a whole can take the credit.

Agreed. I don't think we should have stay up late for it or something. I just think big news posts need to be given priority so at the very least we may be the 2nd translation or something.

Oh, I can do that. I thought about doing it but I stopped because I wasn't sure if it needed to be pinned somehow or what. But if it can just be categorized as News, I can do that :)

Honestly, the main time I get behind is on the weekend since I don't have much downtime and am not up in the morning, lol. It seems those times are busy for you too, so if you're unable to prep that's okay. During the week I'm generally around when the girls are posting and notice them and get them up pretty quickly. The other thing might be if I REALLY get behind on the weekend (i.e. don't get to do anything), and it usually takes me 2 or 3 days or so at the beginning of the week to catch up. At those times the prepping would certainly be appreciated. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Tomorrow marks my last day at work (as I'm heading back to school this fall after working full-time for 5 years) and I've given myself a week of off-time to get ready for school... Just want to note that Risa uses a serious amount of custom emoticons. I think we should really refrain from using *any* custom emoticons at this point. I think we have enough kira kira and hearts, etc etc. Just find something that is similar or nothing at all. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />

For some reason, none of Risa's recent posts have emoticons at all. Hopefully that lasts xD If not, I think it's easy enough to replace her custom ones with similar ones we already have. A sparkle is a sparkle, I don't think readers need to see that it was a pink sparkle or a blue sparkle to get the point xD



EDIT: I started posting Kago translations. It looks like she doesn't have the OG ribbon yet, but that's no big deal/no rush. Also I'm not sure how to pull the time for her posts, so they don't sort right yet =/
