It's "Idol wo Sagase! History" oh with a subtitle of "HaroPuro Member Soushutsuen"
You have volume one. "Idol wo Sagase" was the H!P TV show that ran from '99-'02.
[/quote]
Thanks! I already have "Idol wo Sagase History Pt. 2" on VHS, which I bought six years ago!
(And I just learned that Pt. 2 is included on the first volume of the DVD.)

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Question about Maimi Yajima and her participation in the 2011 film, BLACK ANGELS.
I finally watched it. It's a straight-to-video piece of trash and I can't for the life of me figure out why her manager agreed to let her "act" in it, if you can call that acting. It does absolutely nothing for her career. All I can guess is that someone at UFA owed a debt to the Yakuza and that debt was called in when this thing was cast. They needed a "name" to insure that someone would bother putting it on DVD. The only reason to see it is Maimi and even she puts as little effort into it as she can. YO YO GIRL COP and KUNG FU CHEFS are masterpieces of world cinema in comparison.
Anyone have any insights into this? What's the rationale in letting one of your prize talents demean herself like this? Are the other recent films featuring H!P members as bad as this one?
Thanks.

Can't disagree with you more. It's based on an old manga and it's pretty faithful to the source material. Maimi shows that she legitimately kicks ass and that things with idols don't have to be ridiculous fluff or girls squealing in horror movies.
Demean? Get off your high horse... I'd hate to see how you handle the HP movies where Momoko slits her own throat, Airi bangs her brother, and Kanyon's brother wants to bang her.

"legitimately kicks ass"???? In some of the most unconvincing fight scenes I've seen outside of a recent Steven Seagal movie, she beats up guys much bigger than her with half-assed punches and kicks that wouldn't knock over a garbage can.
Do those other movies you describe really exist? If so, I'd hate to see how I handle them also. Chances are I won't have to.

To be honest, I'd actually prefer them to be in "ridiculous fluff." I'd much rather see these girls in a HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL-type film than a horror film. Y'know, something where they actually get to sing and dance?

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Been doing martial arts for quite a long time, and she used appropriate moves for the fighting style. She pulls it off and looks good doing it since she's had quite a bit of training in other roles she's done as well. During the making of it she even accidentally hurt some of the stunt men since they told her to really hit her before learning how strong she is.
And why would they do theatrical musicals since stage musicals they do are readily available? You can just watch those and old Hello Morning episodes for "idoly" stuff. I'm glad that they're doing everything but standard idol stuff when it comes to movies.

I stand corrected on her martial arts background. I didn't know that and I couldn't tell it from the film. The fight scenes were just too badly photographed for me to tell. I wouldn't have minded this so much if it had been well-made at all. I just don't want the girls to make poor-quality straight-to-video movies, that's all.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
I thought that movie was pretty damn awesome.... I guess if you are used to watching Bruce Lee then looking at Maimi will be a big difference.
I think you're being over critical, I don't think it had a big budget and they did the best they could, as I said when I watched it I thought it was great.
Have you seen the movie called :Keitai Kanojo", Airi is in it and that's a really good movie, or at least I thought so....

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
If my memory serves me right, Nakazawa Yuko and Michiyo Heike hosted the show, followed by Kaori Iida and Rinne Toda. Rinne was in Country Musume, and was working at a farm in Hokkaido while being in th egroup, so I am guessing that is her practicing in the rain?I can't tell who narrates it. There's a shot of them rehearsing outdoors in a rainstorm in Hokkaido.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
I have a movie related question. I was watching a clip on YouTube about a movie that Berryz was in when they were younger. I think
it was filmed before they became an official H!P group. Also, Charmy was in it and in the opening scene they were wearing girl
scout-like outfits and where at a camping site. What movie was this, I really want to watch it. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='

Thank you!

I've always wondered why does Morning Musume almost never sing the full versions of their songs in concert while groups like Berryz and C-ute do?

To fit more songs into the set-list? Morning Musume has a much larger catalog of songs compared to Berryz and C-ute and they also want to highlight members and give them solos and group songs and all that other fan-dangled stuff. Morning Musume is always evolving compared to Berryz and C-ute which haven't changed much since they started. But that's just how I see it. I think you'd have to ask Tsunku this question.
Edit: I also forgot to add, since Morning Musume have inexperienced members, it's less taxing on them right now to give them short songs compared to seasoned performers like Berryz and C-ute. When Berryz began they shared concerts with W to help lessen the load on them and get them used to performing in concerts and stuff like that.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
I watched RIBON NO KISHI again, the stage musical MM did in the summer of 2006. Now, Makoto and Asami both graduated at a concert that summer, I believe it was the H!P Summer 2006 concert. Makoto is in the musical and even has a little mini-graduation ceremony after one of the shows. Asami is nowhere to be found. Why is Makoto there and not Asami?
(I probably asked this question back in 2007, but I don't recall the answer.)
Thanks.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Even though it seems like a double graduation, they've always considered the musical to be her actual graduation, I believe.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
Konno had to graduate early because she was going to take the tests for super elite university. Which is why she couldn't be in the play. So her official graduation was at the concert. Makoto didn't have to leave as quickly because she was going overseas to study her engrish in a half-way house so she stuck around.

If things are still the same, at HP concerts they used to have a table set up to join the fan club at. As long as you can speak a little Japanese, they'll help you fill out the form and get you in the club.

Need advice on buying MM tour tickets!
There's a chance we'll get to fly to Japan this Autumn, but we need to decide on booking flights soon. Obviously, the concert tickets are not on sale yet.
It seems most venues they play at now are really small (<3000 capacity), and I've heard that tickets sell out super-fast as FC people tend to buy them in bulks. Is that true, and is there any chance that we may end up not getting them?
We would probably fly around October 6th and stay for a ~week, which would give us 4 dates / 8 concerts out of the currently announced ones. Is that safe enough?
And last but not least, would anyone in Japan feel like helping fellow admins out to buy them? We'd owe you big time. <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... smooch.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='=3=' />

I don't think you should have any problems. I haven't bought MM tickets the official way (as in calling that number they list / going online to the ticket vendors) since 2006, so hopefully someone else has more info on that. I got tickets for the past two years of Fall concerts via Ticket.co.jp, and they weren't terribly marked up. The site sells tickets at a fixed price, so no worries of crazy bid wars. Since you're not going to a graduation tour (as far as we know xD) the prices should be a little better if you end up having to go that route. You will need someone in Japan to purchase them for you if you use that service though. To give you an idea of prices to expect, here are prices for one of the dates of the summer tour. You'd want "2枚連番." All prices listed are per ticket. The longer you wait, the more the price will go up.
Something to keep in mind - if you get family seats (ファミリー席) you aren't allowed to stand and do crazy wota dancing. The plus side is that your view isn't blocked by crazy wota dancing. 一般席 = normal seats.

Re: The Official H!P Question Thread
I have a question for you all.
http://projecthello.com/momusu/resonant.html
In the romaji it says that Ai-chan says "Fake" I don't hear it, or is that what the translation is. I thought she did something like Oooowwaayyyyoo. Owayo. Is that a word and does it mean fake?
