This week's H!P Station is all about this.
Features performances of the new songs in full.
[/quote]
Does anyone know what the deal with the Hello Kitties is? Dead serious, Hello Kitty is my second favorite thing ever.
S/mileage's song is BOSS. I think it was meant for J=J though. The mature song+funky dance+ big girl voices= JJ recently. Though this song is the best S/m song like ever. They better not destroy the cover and MV.
J=J feat song is crap. I really think they switched with S/m because that is the stuff they have been getting recently.
*C-ute is going to get way more popular with this single. I'm calling it now. Teenage girls love this kind of stuff (I should know.) What are the lyrics about? The title makes me wonder.
Love Machine was AWESOME.
S/m Yume 15 dance was sharp. I loved it. They have really been stepping up their game. They must have their eye on The Budokan. Or are trying to poach some female *C-ute fans.

Re: Hello! Project Yaon Premium Live ~Soto Fest~
I like the Egg Juice song.
S/mileage's new one is definitely their best single since Uchoten Love. But dammit Akari, where you getting this sexiness from? You're supposed to be the boyish one.
C-ute just continues to dominate. They're performance skills have reached the level to where they are absolutely the best all around group in the history of HP.
I'm probably the only person happy to see Aika actually do something. Plus, mah super dorbz Nanami is backing her up! <img src='http://mm-bbs.org/public/style_emoticon ... #>/wub.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Still not feeling Berryz new one yet. Do they have completely different choreographers than the others? Their performance just seems to basic and lackluster compared to the other HP groups, especially with the way S/mileage has stepped it up with that new song. I'd like to think the girls have the technical skill for much better routines and we can blame the choreographer because, damn, they are just getting left behind by the rest of HP in the performance department. Risako and Miya sounded great though.
Lolz at Tsunku trying to start some beef between C-ute and Berryz, and making fun of Berryz whining about the Budokan. He was also pretty in their face about not being able to draw the same number of fans as C-ute. And, goddammit Berryz, at least act happy about it. C-ute reacting to their Budokan announcement was an amazingly emotional moment. Other than Captain tearing up, the rest of them were like, "Yeah, I guess that's cool..."
The Resonant Blue performance was decent, but kind of boring after seeing everyone else perform new songs. At least they didn't perform Love Machine.
Fuck...

After watching the performances, I have concluded that Aika's voice has amounted to shit. Why can't she just sound like she did in Kanashimi Twilight.

That part drove me absolutely nuts. They had absolutely zero emotion except for Risako tearing up in the beginning probably more out of fear that something awful was about to happen. Ridiculous. It's fucking Budokan!

Re: Hello! Project Yaon Premium Live ~Soto Fest~
I think that has more to do with confusion than anything. The consensus that even they can likely understand is that this is out of nowhere and they really didn't do anything to earn it. It just... happened. So I don't blame anyone for deer-in-headlights-ing at that announcement. In the idol world, plenty of things are tests as well as rewards, so there's probably plenty to be apprehensive about, especially considering this is altogether a huge moment for both groups.
EDIT: Also wanna say Saki's tears seemed legit and C-ute really helped with the support. Congrats to both groups.

I liked all of the new singles.
Riho/Reina lead Momusu needs to DIAF with that big ass bow.
I don't care about group wars anymore, and it's getting annoying to read. I like C-ute more than Berryz personally but I'm glad both groups get to realize the "dream" of every music act I've ever heard about by performing in Budokan. I hope this means a sick stage and some crazy choreography and not the same old boring stuff they usually do.

I haven't been anywhere but here, but I'm not seeing any group wars on this. Saying they didn't earn it doesn't mean it's not a great thing for them, or that they shouldn't be able to do it. I don't think of myself as a fan of either group, so all good over here.
And I'd expect the same boring stuff, I'm just hoping for more interesting stage design myself.

This is being released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 9th.
It was shown on TBS's pay channel recently so expect it to show up on the tracker or whatever.
Have a performance of Koko ni Iruzee!

Re: Hello! Project Yaon Premium Live ~Soto Fest~
My DVD of this concert arrived from CDJapan last Friday. I just printed out the tracklist. After reading through this thread, I'm quite excited about it.
But I have a question: what was the occasion for this concert? Why a big H!P concert in spring? They've never done one in spring before, right? And coming after Hinamatsuri, which was late winter, that's two big H!P concerts in between their normal ones, winter and summer. Why this sudden spurt of activity? Not that I'm complaining. I'm just curious.
Thanks.
P.S. the DVD cover says:

-sotofes-
Hello! Project Yaon Premium Live
supported by Hellosmile

What's "sotofes"?
What's Hellosmile?
Who's the lady doing the introduction at the very beginning?

From the first post.

This concert was held todayat the Tokyo Hibiya Park Open Air Concert Hall. Which just celebrated it's 90th anniversary.

H!P were invited to help celebrate the parks anniversary. And this is Hellosmile. Which is why Hello Kitty was there.
And I can't help you with the lady since I haven't seen the concert yet. But I'm sure she has something to do with the above. I could be wrong.

I'd still like some thoughts on my first set of questions. Why this sudden spurt of H!P activity? It seems uncharacteristic to me.

Re: Hello! Project Yaon Premium Live ~Soto Fest~
H!P if you haven't noticed all the changes lately, are rebranding themselves and changing how they operate. I'm assuming there was a big shuffle in power behind the scenes. They are trying to breath new life into the stale H!P now that they have all this new blood and using the idol boom to do it. They also just had their 15th anniversary and basically they were running on auto pilot with the summer/winter concert set-up.

That's a good thing, I suppose. I just hope the girls don't get burned out. That would be a bad thing. So far, it doesn't look like it to me. I thought Juice=Juice and the Kenshuusei looked and sounded really good in the opening numbers of this event. I haven't gotten beyond that yet. And everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves in the Hinamatsuri event.
Has anyone in Japan commented on this rebranding and new life? Have there been press articles and TV reports on this spurt of new activity? It seems to me like this would be a big story over there. If so, I'm doubting there are any English translations, but I'd sure like to know the nature of the press coverage.

Okay, here's the lady who introduced the event:
Anyone recognize her?
And how do you like S/mileage's new costumes?
They look several years older than their last concert appearance. They're like hip little office ladies who formed a group after hours.
I mean, check out Ayaka:
Compare this to Hinamatsuri, just a couple months earlier:
And Karin Miyamoto looks different every time I see her in something. I'm not always sure which one she is. Is this her?:

In one thing I saw recently (Reina's graduation concert?) Sakura looked just like MaiMai.
By the way, I was surprised to see Reina with MM in this concert. I thought the graduation concert preceded it.

Wow, that's cutting it close. Squeezed in one more concert appearance before the big day. Well, if it means more Reina in concert for all of us, that's a good thing!
I finished watching the concert and have more comments to make but I need to get some new screen grabs and will have to do that tonight.

Question:
Why does Berryz have to wear the same drab costumes in this concert that they wore at Hinamatsuri?
...while C-ute gets sparkling new costumes?
Not just one, but a second costume as well (seen in the extras):
Not fair to Berryz.
I thought the ensemble "Love Machine" finale (with Hello Kitty) was spectacular:
Loved seeing Karin get her Love Machine groove on:
The kid's got it.
And a shot of Reina in her last concert appearance before graduation:

Wasn't Berryz in between tours/singles at this time? I think C-ute wasn't, so those are recycled from a concert and single. Don't quote me on that though, I could be talking out of my behind!

Another question:
Who's the Egg behind/between Aika and Maimi in this shot?
I'm noticing her more and more as one of the few who stand out among the current batch of Eggs ("kenshuusei").

Yeah, the outfit Berryz have on are their promo outfits for their Spring tour.

Okay, C-ute's green costume was from "Adam to Eve no Dilemma" (unusual title for a Hello! Project song), but what about these costumes?
Are they from a specific single?:
Also, these Morning Musume costumes were used in the final numbers of Reina's graduation concert also. Are they from a particular song?
Thanks.

Re: Hello! Project Yaon Premium Live ~Soto Fest~
They are both concert outfits. C-ute's being from their ℃-ute Concert Tour 2013 Haru ~Treasure Box~ tour and Morning Musume's being from Morning Musume Concert Tour 2013 Haru Michishige☆Eleven SOUL tour.
This concert took place in May. Morning Musume (obviously) were still in their concert series. C-ute were also in the middle of their concert series. Berryz had just finished up their concert series in April, which was a month before Hinamatsuri and they haven't had another concert till July (their yearly Tanabata Special concert). So it's all they had I guess?
This was C-ute's special moment since it was when they were told their were going to Budokan and it was the first time they performed Adam to Eve no Dilemma. Berryz had Hinamatsuri. This was C-ute's special moment. So I think it all evens out if you ask me. ;D
