The Roots feat. Joana Newsom - Right On
Oh, sure, rag on me for liking her, but when someone picks one of her oldest and most poorly sung tracks and mashes it with hip hop it's a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I love The Book of Right-On, but humph.
Speaking of which, let me start with the song that has made it onto every single mix/playlist/songlist I've compiled since it came out earlier this year. I am putting my bet on this song being in the top 3 of "longest runs on my playlists ever."
Joanna Newsom - Go Long
I cannot help but rant about it. It starts off like a whole lot of nothing and turns into the most gorgeous instrument duet toward the end, with a harp and West African Kora no less. The fact that I've wholeheartedly convinced myself that this song is about a current life situation doesn't exactly help my inability to let it go.
"Wolf spider, crouch, in your funnel nest... if I knew you once, now I know you less." EMO EMO EMO
Anyway, moving on. There are in no particular order, but have been getting lots of play.
1) The Prodigy - Spitfire
2) T-ara - Bye Bye
3) T-ara - One&One
4) T-ara - I Go Crazy Because of You (Oh, who am I kidding. This entire album is gold, basically.)
5) SCANDAL - GIRLism
6) Blonde Redhead - Misery is a Butterfly
7) SNSD - Run Devil Run
8) 2NE1 - Nan Bappa (nanbappadamnbappananbappaverybappa)
9) U2 - Staring at the Sun (New Mix)
10) Aa! - Yume to Genjitsu

^ Oh, that entire album is amazing~
I've had these tracks stick out to me more than anything else lately.
Cool & The Gang - Moneypenny
Pogo (Hey Today! Remix) - Digitalism
Hiver Interstellaire - ninetyniNe (couldn't find a stream, here's a download)
Don't Turn The Lights On (Aeroplane Remix) - Chromeo (this version has a different intro than what I have...)

Oh My God - Ida Maria: A delightfully dark rock song with a killer chorus. It's been the image song for "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" and "The Virginity Hit" as of late, even though the song is, like, 2+ years old. [edit: "Funny," not "Long"]

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
I've been retreating into my den of '80s pop music over the last couple of weeks. Stuff I seem to keep coming back to:
Shaking the Tree (1990 remix) - Peter Gabriel and Youssou N'Dour
Having trouble locating the version I'm listening too, but that's a truncated LQ version that cuts off before it can fade out. Anyway, song about the emancipation of women.
The Word Girl - Scritti Politti
Green Gartside deconstructs the word "girl" and its use in popular culture and disguises it as a love song set to reggae-tinged New Wave. It's fucking awesome.
Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money) - Pet Shop Boys
Pretty blatant satire of Thatcherism. That's always good in my book.
Shopping - Pet Shop Boys
More irony and socialism.
Gentlemen Take Polaroids - Japan
This is a British group called Japan who are most famous for an album about China. This song isn't from that album, but it's still one of my favourites. New Romantic art rock at its best.

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
I made a "Kpop booster pack" full of relatively recent songs I've heard on TV shows and so on, but never quite listened to enough (and also a few songs I loved but didn't listen to for a while). Some of them grew on me quite a bit.
01. Super Junior H - 요리왕 (Cooking? Cooking!)
02. Kara - Mister
03. 김태우 - 사랑비 (Love Rain)
04. 소녀시대 - Oh!
05. 샤이니 - Ring Ding Dong
06. 레인보우 - A <-- Banned music video! Guess why!
07. After School - 뱅 (Bang)!
08. 시크릿 - Magic
09. 이효리 - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (feat. Ceejay of Freshboyz)
10. Super Junior - SORRY, SORRY
11. 카라 (Kara) - 루팡 (Lupin)
12. 4Minute - [Various Korean Songs #04] I My Me Mine
13. 시크릿 - [Various Korean Songs #01] Madonna

Is Korea seriously that upset about the "ab dance"? I knew the dance was changed for a TV show, but not that the video was banned.
Or is it that there's cleavage?

Nah you were right the first time, it's the navel-showing dance apparently. (Although, when I say it's banned, it's more that MBC refused to broadcast it. That qualifies for me.)

Rainbow - A is a pretty hot video and the song isn't bad either.
I'm going to listen to the rest of the songs too.
EDIT:
Listened to it 4 times since I made this post and it immediately got stuck in my head.
Now I just have to decide which one is going to be my waifu...
2. EDIT:
Well fuck my face, this song is pretty awesome and catchy. That's the mindless asian pop I like.
3.EDIT:
@Secret - Magic; "We are messy, we are Mexico", oh those weird korean girl groups.
I'm going to listen to the rest of the songs too.

the current top ten list of "I can't believe I voluntarily listened to reggaeton"
01. Don Omar - Danza Kuduro (reggaeton)
02. Camila - Alejate de mi
03. Juan Luis Guerra feat. Juanes - La Calle
04. Juan Luis Guerra - Bachata de Fukuoka
05. Juanes - Yerbatero
06. Camila - Dejarte de Amar (Ignore the cheesy photos. Why yes, this band only writes ballads.)

Re: What are you listening to right now ?
Re:ggaeton (lol), I'm totally addicted to the second in the Hwantastic series: Jo Kwon & Whale - Dunk Shot. Also features an awesome music video and hilarious lyrics (there's a subtitled video somewhere but I couldn't find it right now EDIT I LIED. quality's much worse though).
This also prompted my to look at W&Whale (together with PQ, but I didn't really listen to their albums until now), and they're really very good. I might make a thread about them later, but they're kinda like a more mellow version of Clazziquai, I guess.

09. Scandal - Nanka Buttobase
Awesome. I skimmed through the videos on your list, and this one caught my attention. I have to give their other songs a listen, but for now color me interested.

I'm happy that that was the Korean version, not the Japanese one.
Also, I liked this performance of it- better outfits and camera work, so the dance looks better.

W&Whale popped up on my radar the other day after I came across the Fluxus Voices videos. Fluxus artists did covers of All I Want For Christmas Is You, Beat It, and Our Night Is More Beautiful Than Your Day. Whale stood out in all of those, so I got a few of their albums to listen to.
